I am a Freddy fan, big time. But he goes missing for too long a period during games.Yes he kicks goals and has had all season to do that.Voss has not had those chances.Butthey are notvying for the same spots.
Switta is spoken of being a hard running hard tackling goal kicker, but to me seldom kicks goals.
Not talking aboutsacifising players, just pointing out players that are giving nothing at the moment.
I know that all the team, well the vast majority , were very very poor, and at some stage these players notperforming MUST be given the ultimatum, perform at the top level od wear the Teal Peel guernsey for a few week.
Don't tell me you don't think players should be dropped.
yep, players need to lift, but some have known that for a few weeks, after a debacle like last week, the pressure must go on them all.
Basically they have blamed Draper as the only one thatneeded to be dropped. Very unfair on him. There were many as bad or worse than him.
The problem with deciding whom to drop is really hard. Personanly you need need to start at the top.

just like people clambering for a sack the coach. perhsapsd drop the leaders who hardly touched the ball

If Brayshaw and seorng had won the clearances we would not be a losing team against the Saints.

If Treacy had been his usual leading self , taken some marks up the field we would not have lost

Now should we drop those thre champiosn probably not.

Draper is a good choose as he will learn a lot back in PEel. Get his confidence back

Fans gonna hate hate hate

Frederick is third on our goal kicking list only 2 behind our champion Amiss

You prefer Voss who has only kicked 3?

Even Darcy has kicked 2!

Come on ... this is not a time to sacrifice individuals based on a few games. but it is time for the whole squad to lift.
Yay go team…. JL to raz the boys up tomorrow night with hard hitting, motivational phrases like-

“If you lose, you’re all still winners in my eyes!”,
“Remember, it’s all about having fun!”,
“You can do it, just believe in yourself”
and
“Everyone loves VANILLA ice cream!”…

Yay go Team!!!

I don't think it's about his game at this point, it's about who he has pissed off. Maybe he didn't share the talking stick at J-lo's drum circle. Who knows.

When Serong posted engagement pics Brodie was one of a handful of players there so he's obviously close with Serong and Brayshaw which makes Brodie's non-selection more puzzling. If he was on the outer like Connor Blakely it would make sense.

It always goes back to the Mundy rumour for me. And if that is the truth, it's pathetic. Mundy could have played on and Brodie was right to voice his opinion.

We have omitted under performers (Banners, Draper, Karl, Ras, Aish). We have have varied the sub (Chappy, Duds, Voss, Narkle). And now, we have just selected 3 players who are 21 and under when we have already been fielding the youngest/least experience (or thereabouts) every week!

We're 9 years in to a rebuild and still the youngest or 2nd youngest team in the comp. It's nonsense, you could manage your team selection for the next 20 years having the youngest team in the comp and use that excuse but at some stage you have to try to win games.

Will Brodie is a better AFL footballer than Neil Erasmus. So is James Aish. Selecting a list clogger because he was a top ten pick and keeps us as one of the youngest sides in the comp should see JLo fired Friday if we lose.

Absolutely baffles me all these comments about Brodie. He ain't it.

I reckon we're going to see Luke Jackson playing a fair bit of mid this week since Voss has come in.

What if the Jackson experiment doesn't work?

What if Brayshaw gets concussed 10 minutes in?

It's crazy to go into a game in prime time after being embarrassed on the national stage a week earlier with just two genuine midfielders despite the short comings of your 3rd best available midfielder. Brodie should be in the 22 and if he's not performing sub him out or drop him. You can't keep rebuilding and looking to next year forever.

Erasmus, Johnson, Serong, Brayshaw

4 good mids. Probably mid 1 light but you can't play Brodie and Erasmus

I rate the changes. Addressing a lot of our problems - cooper for small defender and kicking skills off half back (also means Wagner can stay in the middle).

Voss for physicality and releasing jackson.

Erasmus for size and tackling in the middle.

Sub will be Duds or Reid I think not Ras but who knows

I'm not against Brodie or Aish playing ahead of say Switkowski or giving Reid a rest if he needs it.

But Erasmus was a no brainer selection. Erasmus gives us extra size over Aish, and extra defensive running/tackling over Brodie. And Ras has been our best WAFL player for some time.

It's got nothing to do with him being a top 10 pick. Brodie was also a top 10 pick. Their draft position has long been forgotten as far as selection goes. If anyone can be called a list clogger, it's Brodie and Aish, as they are taking more salary and going through the motions for Peel knowing their time is up.

As much you think Erasmus is not up to it, you can't actually say that with 100% certainty (even if it looks likely) when he has never been given a proper run. And of course, he will get dropped again as soon as NOD/JOM are available, so the cycle will repeat.

Look at Ned Long ... he was from the same draft and cut by Hawthorn, and only in the last month has he been given an extended chance to show he can actually play to the standard required.

Great post

I'll be happy to be proven wrong but that's what a fan forum is about. Opinions.

IMO Erasmus will either be a role player tomorrow and run with a Sidebottom type which I think he can do or he'll struggle and be a liability. His skills are poor and decision making too slow.

Lots of enthusiastic support for dropping any number of players. Not much enthusiastic support for proposed replacements.
It’s not about improving performance it’s about improving attitude , big names are getting flogged by desperate potatoes all across the comp

I am neither exultant nor melty over the changes. They are ok. But i understand the frustrations of some. Didn't we just lose to Melbourne a few weeks ago, who made a statement by dropping underperforming senior players and followed it up with a stirring backs-to-the-wall win? The idea that it wouldn't work for us so it's not even worth trying is BS.

I rarely understand the logic in our selections and this week is no different.

What roles will Voss and Jackson play?

I’m not criticising it, I just don’t understand it.
