Whatever we do isn’t going to make an iota of difference.

I reckon just sit back and watch a Masterclass by Daicos. Enjoy watching the spectacle of great footy by a top 3 player in the game. No sarcasm.
Agreed, have always tried to enjoy watching the greats even when they don't play for Freo.

Much as it would be great to see Freo win, the Pies team still have great players everyone who is an AFL fan would want to see live - especially Daicos, but also potentially a last chance to see the likes of Sidebottom and Pendels live too. Although knowing our luck the Pies would rest the lot of them to save the trip to Perth, and still beat us with their B team.

I was really stoked to watch the Bulldogs -v- GWS game at Manuka last weekend even though I dislike both those teams, just because I so wanted to see Sam Darcy play live to see if the hype was really valid. Was a real let down when he didn't wind up playing due to injury.

Sometimes watching great players is somehow almost as rewarding as watching our own team win.

Is there a world where it might be worth trying MJ as a deep backline player? He has the height and reach to possibly take 3rd talls, and maybe the intercept mark role? Would also mean he has not got the pressure to generate slick movement in the stoppages - which seems to make his brain freeze.

Just trying to find something different given how little backline depth we have and how many injuries to the mid sized defensive players. I think Wags and even Draper and Worner would be better forward instead of their backline roles.

I’d like to see Voss, O’Mac, Ras & Brodie.

Anyone calling out Serong I just don’t get it. He’s leading the AFL or top 10 in so many stats & he’s absolutely key to our game & tries his guts out. Other teams know it & he’s getting monstered by taggers.

The real question is why do we refuse to try something different to cope with it? Get nasty with blocking & scragging his taggers?
Yeah Serong isn't going to get dropped but hopefully supported properly. He is getting buried under tags and big bodies. No space to move

Makes too many mistakes.

Even though any change we make is irrelevant, I would like to see one of the following changes this week:
  • Jackson on ball; or
  • Move Chapman on ball and leave Draper in the backline.
We are clearly missing another bid bodied mid so let's see if he will try to solve this issue.

If you’re small, have to have qualities to overcome the height difference.
Switkowski is easily beaten for speed and agility by a Milera-Wanganeen who is 187cm. It’s embarrassing. He had 3 tackles last night. Dudley had 8, Wagner 16!:

Dudley and Reid should be the only ones at that height due to their game ability and creativeness.

Daicos brothers are freaks. Fast, creative, agile and strong. Sidebottom runs all day. None of our smalls have all those qualities.

Could put a Sam Collins on Switta and still he would be faster and agile. Taller players these days are playing small, medium or tall players dependance on structure.
Mind you Wanganeen-milera burns off most players. Height, speed and touch. Great player.

Young was thrown on ball in end of 2023 because season was over. That was a revelation.
Why not try Chapman. Clean, goes in hard and tackles.
Jackson should definitely be at centre bounces from next week

Don’t reckon I’ll bother going to see us get pumped by the Pies on Thursday night. But to be honest, even if we won in the current circumstances I wouldn’t be that excited.

This club has made me not give two ****s about this club.

Macdonald or Voss can comeback this week. Play one of them for Young or both if we dropped Amiss and then Jackson can play onball. Murphy Reid could do with a week's rest as he looked tired against the Saint but I would like him to play mid for brief periods with lots of bench time. I want so many more players dropped for that effort but who would come in. Switta should be sub as he's been terrible since coming back from injury. We could play Wagner back and have Chappy midfield.
