And I don't see it happening but Sturt for Emmett. I like Emmett just want some more forwards that kick goals.

I think Sturt will kick more goals than Emmett, but I think Emmett will create more opportunities for the team through pressure and bashing through the lines.

So if we are playing a side where our midfield will be way on top, like they were today, then we should look at playing Sturt, but if we are playing a team of men who will limit our looks we will need more opportunity creators.

.... but we also need the guys who will finish truly.

I think Sturt will deliver better forward. Emmett has created a chance then totally fluffed the kick to a loose team mate in a goal scoring position multiple times the last two weeks.

Yep that's what I remember too. They take advantage of us seeming to purposely leave the short lateral kick open to a team rebounding.

Swans are playing great footy at the moment. Two years ago when they dissected us by chipping around the place I thought we were not ready for the opposition changing their game to beat us. When you're on the rise you tend to play as if teams will go head to head against you, not deliberately counter you. It was a mark of respect from the Swans that they changed their game style to beat us, but I feel we should be better prepared for that now, and they should have less reason to do early in the season (why change a winning formula?)

Anyway it will be interesting to see how much we have matured, and just how good the Swans are. My son has us winning - we beat Richmond and Richmond beat them. Freo by 10 points.

The way Sturt scores is by leading and marking and benefitting off fast ball movement. We had like 20 marks inside 50. We were capitalising already in that way. Him being there wouldn't have made a difference today. If we were scoring off of pressure and our smalls locking the ball in our 50 but were getting no marks or set shots then Sturt would make a difference. He doesn't today. Neither would any tall.

Does anyone else hate Friday night home games? I want more Friday night away games where I can come home from work and turn on the TV to watch out guys play. Getting to and from the stadium and rushing from work to make it in time is not enjoyable. Especially when they don't have the buses running.

We can definitely beat them on our home deck but I am less certain given the short 5 day turnaround we have. That is why it is a danger game.

Getting to and from the stadium and rushing from work to make it in time is not enjoyable. Especially when they don't have the buses running.

Yeah I'm pretty lucky that where I work we close up at 3pm every Friday.

Agree.
Emmett’s decision making and refusal to kick for goal of late is very telling. But Sturt isn’t Emmett, the team loses pressure

Not the kind of player that I would want as the sub. Simpson or Walters as a sub makes sense.

This is going to be a really interesting selection because hopefully Switta is finally available and they'll pick our strongest possible team. Add to that great selection pressure from Peel as well.

That's ideal. These weren't too bad when I worked in Subi a walk away from the train station with a direct line to the stadium. Now down in the south east metro and with the train lines closed and a 5pm work finish it's going to be exhausting.

Just had a quick read of the Swans board and it seems like Hamling might not even be the next defender in. He played in the VFL as a forward and kicked 3 goals whilst Aaron Francis played key back.

Saying that a few dockers players did well for peel on the weekend too. erasmus and Broadie got 34 disposals each. Sturt kicked 4 goals too.
