Then every player needs to pull out of the contestrefrain from accidentally clobbering a bloke on the head unless they arrive exactly on time?

Edited for accuracy.

Didn’t think there was much in it, and Mihocek sounded quite indignant in the umpire’s microphone, but the MRO might not see it that way.

Probably one of those that the MRO would have ignored if it wasn’t brought to his attention by the umpires.

To drop Stevenson just at the moment his season shows signs of turning, and with a very fast Essendon a week away would be odd.
Brown looked to have killed his career with the apparently match losing miss, but just as quickly resurrected it with the work he did to create the win. Earned another week.
De Goey's work in the middle suggests but doesn't prove that we need Seir there. Seir will have to prove it.
We don't really have a clear replacement for Mayne. His skillset is not common. Beams would come back in if fit, but that does not deal with the role that Mayne performs. A rearrangement of the side will have to occur, perhaps with Appleby replacing Aish so he can move upfield to fill the Mayne hole. Who to drop for this I don't see.
Greenwood is a possibility for this job too. He might be a straight swap for Mayne, but is not as good.

I don't like the inference of accidentally being labelled 'negligent' and never will - it smacks of labeling a contested situation as an assault.

Beams will come in,
And Pendles must be on thin ice.
Pendlebury seems to not get the respect he deserves from some of our own supporters.
Played well on Friday.
When you’re there, you literally see him directing traffic. He still uses sublime guile to move the ball to position.
Cuts the opposition a thousand ways.
Very under appreciated.

Hahahaha...
Best laugh I’ve had for months!!
Talk about righteous!
Differing opinions are normally shot down by idiots supported by mods.
Just the way it is.
Out of curiosity why are you so obsessed with mods and Anzac Day in particular?

You never seem to let some imagined slight go?

Callum Brown - fumbles, can't stick tackles and didn't nail his set shot for goal (and doesn't at training either). He might gain some composure in time but his size is also problematic for someone without genuine pace and good skills.

Changes this week
Aish - Appleby. Aish is slow and his disposal has been poor
Mayne - Beams if available, or Greenwood to tag Neale if Beams is unavailable

If Beams is struggling with mental health issues, then simply state that. It's not like it would be a surprise to anyone.
If the Saints can manage it with Jack Stephen, why not Pies/Beams?
Nothing to be ashamed about or lie about. Plenty of mental health issues in society. We need to be more open, inclusive and understanding about it.
Yeah, those saying Brown can stay have their eyes painted on - was a deplorable performance

Aside from Maynard our Defence has worked pretty well, intercept marking needs to improve also, but the point is Aish is playing his role well....it’s not all about the stats. Everybody is still finding their best football.

Brown came good in the last quarter when it counted most...id like to see him get another game.

Stephenson didn’t play well at all, yes he kicked some goals late but it was more fortune than anything. I think if Beams is fit then he comes in for Stepho. The last thing we want is for young players to think they have automatic selection.

Maynard out for Appleby.

Mayne doesn’t look like he’ll be back with a 6 day break. I’d give IQ a debut against a young side. Or Goldsack. Don’t think Wills, Wells or Sier are fit just yet.

Bigfooty has officially jumped the shark with Aish.

A post that advocates Aish's role in the team while knocking Maynard's... Maynard is so far in front of Aish as a footballer it isn't funny. I'm genuinely wondering whether you've confused the two or something?

Maynard is the burly lock down defender that leads by example, can do a job on any small/mid-sized forward and who breaks open zones with 50m searing passed out of defence. Aish is that slow little dude who plays on the worst forward every week and offers absolutely nothing offensively bar a few horrific mistakes. Shits himself whenever he is in possession and looks to off-load it to anybody else, regardless of whether they are in a better position, just so he isn't in the spotlight. Half the time he just resorts to kicking it out on the full.

But yep, let's drop Maynard and persevere with Aish in the hope he miraculously finds his 'best footy'. His a top ten draft pick so it must be in there somewhere, right?

Adams & Pendles not at the Pies kids clinic today.......not sure if they have an issue.

No need to be a smartarse. You don't need to be a coach to know that a bloke who keeps coming to the bench for a spell every three minutes isn't going to be called up for an AFL game.

He was doing that in the seniors last year and still being effective.

De Goey played a quarter in the midfield and showed the huge difference it made.

Sier addresses a weakness in our team.

I agree - why do people just assume he should be pushed out of the team? Can people explain why they are so strong on Sier - I like him too but I feel like the desire for him outmatches his true value at this point in time. Again, I don't think it is good for players to get dropped unless it is a walk up start best player returning. So, if he makes way for Beams then fair enough. Otherwise, leave him in to progress his development. Sier, if he is worthy, can fight his way back in.
Sier is a genuinely exciting prospect. Aside from endurance at the moment, he's got every other inside mid attribute at a very very very high level - power, pace, clean hands, awareness, peripheral vision, creativity. It's a very very rare blend of attributes. That's why everyone is so bullish about him. We want him in for what he could become, if he gets his game all together.

Can't see many changes tbh, maybe Brown to be omitted if Crocker comes in as a like for like replacement for Mayne. Otherwise:

Out: Mayne (Inj)
In: Beams

Hope we blow them out, haven't had a good % booster since round 2
I just hope we win... very worried about this game, even after the Bombers touched them up.

Aish played the Mayne role first half of 2018
Could bring in Appleby for defence and move Aish to wing
Beams for Brown if fit

I'm wrestling with the idea of Aish's role in the side. I believe it is important to maintain cohesion and consistency in the side. However Aish has been really poor for a few weeks. His field kicking in particular has been really ordinary. We have Appleby and Quaynor available in the twos both with some good form behind them. Quaynor though might be a bit premature for senior footy just yet. And Appleby has had an interrupted preaseason. I wonder if we make that call on Aish this week or give him one more to turn around his fortunes?

I don't think it will make much of a difference either way. Ideally all 3 get some games throughout the year, so that they can come in and play a role for the finals if necessary. If we were playing a final next week, I'd pick Aish, as you know he'll stand up defensively and won't fumble anything that comes his way.

We made a gf last year we should blow out a mediocre team for a change please

I don't hate it, would be good to see Apples out there again
