Will be a waste of a sub IMO, a quarter n a half of AFL level stuff will do him little, he needs a good solid run at it, allowing him time to get into the game.

The only way we can sacrifice some height is by chucking more and more inexperienced kids down back, the same people complaining about height are more often than not ones saying we're playing too many kids, so I honestly dont know whats expected of the club any more.

I would simply say, take out a tall and put Cruize in the midfield. Assuming it was C Delaney, we would still have L Delaney, Grima, Thompson, Firrito, Wright and Atley as the back 6.

Call it a personal opinion I guess. I actually see a fair bit of Brisbane, would almost go as far to saying theyre my second favourite team, best mates a Brisbane supporter and posts on your board, usually watch Brisbane vs Whoever over say Carlton vs Geelong when theyre simulcast.

You have some decent names down back but thinking of the overall team it seems the easiest line to bust open (in my opinion).

You have the same issue with Merrett that we had with Drew a few years back, getting moved from Position to Position, injuries over the last year or so to the likes of Adcock, Maguire (also poor form over the last year), Staker and Drummond in and out of the side.

I just feel your mids and forwards when on are a hell of alot more dangerous. You only need a couple of players like Brown, Banfield, Black etc to pop up and have good games and you look a hell of alot better side.

Once again just a personal opinion and you may be right.

As a Lions supporter, I would agree with Gibbo on our backline. IMO it is our strongest position and the only reason it has had some big scores kicked against it is because of the midfield. You could have the best backline to ever the play the game but if the ball is getting flooded into the 50 constantly it is going to be hard to stop. Also a lot of goals from the opposition have come from their midfielders, that is not the backlines fault either.

The other part of your earlier post that I don't agree with is your assesment of Rich. He would be top 3 in our best and fairest at this stage and most Lions supporters would agree with me. He has probably been our best midfielder for the year!
