You'd have to think that Vince needs to fire this week or he's done. I'm surprised he is in, but if we're going to be sorting out a finals bound team - you'd want it to be now, not round 18.

I'd assume there was a sit down and a discussion with Vinnie, and he's clear on expectations.

Yeah you kinda did ;)

Yeah, I kinda didn't.

It was never about making that trade. Player for player. It was about evaluating the equivalent players values.

I never said I would trade David MacKay, for anyone. Please find those exact words where I did.

What about Michael Talia?

MacKay for Talia?

Look, it would be very naive to believe MacKay for Talia would get the deal done.

MacKay would be a early 3rd rounder whereas at this stage, Talia would be somewhere around late first round easy second.

Terrible judgement all round.

Hard to know what was the worst call - the really, really, really, really crap call on the footy players;

or claiming you'd been taken out of context when you must have known that it was just sitting there in free agency thread.

Anyway apology accepted, lets move on.

Piss off clown

Like I said, you have taken it out of context. It was a conversation beteen dale and I abd during that conversation I suggested a David MacKay would be a player the Western Bulldogs would look at.

I never ever said I would do that trade, I said it would suit both teams as we need another key defender.

ah look, if you think those exact quotes say something different then more power to you.

I'll leave others to make their own judgement about yours.

I don't care, never have and never will care what the great unwashed think. You can garnish as much support as you want, You are wrong, you took those quotes out of context.

Not to mention Sadomasochism did also say that Bling would play plenty of footy for us this year however than promotes a Rookie who plays the same role as Bling
I can only hope Bernard is sweating nervously, knowing the sword of Sandocles is hanging above his head.
Not sure why it's taken so long but this should be a thing.

I'm in the camp that feels Sando is shaking bernie up a bit. He has twice the talent of Lyons and we need to find a way to get him firing. Dusseldorf and some tough love cone on down.

Very pleased to see the young guys retained
Reasonably pleased with senior player management so far... definitely starting to see a changing of the guard. But making them earn it.

Now. ... If we can get our Centre clearance work going. ..

My belt holds my pants up, but the belt loop holds my belt up. I don't really know what's happening down there. Who is the real hero?

I wear a necklace, cause I wanna know when I'm upside down.

I wonder what would have happened if Crouch wasn't injured? Would have been a very interesting selection!

Not delighted that Vince is back after one week, but let's face it, if he does manage to recapture his best form (and perhaps being publicly put on thin ice is the way to ensure it) he could be a big asset.

On the other hand, if he plays like he has for the last year or so, I hope we'll finally make the hard call on him.

Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something.

(This is really taking the edge off the Vince selection :p)

My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them.

I'll stop now. :D

Its his childish way of trying to pretend he's special.

Was wondering if he was talking about the posters on this board.. If so that is someone's thoughts then why even bother posting here and getting into discussions with these "unwashed people"

I am obviously one of the few who are extremely happy with our selection policy this year.

Sando is managing the the older out of form players beautifully. Clearly he has given preference to the players who performed last year (rightly so). When their form drops - they either go back to SANFL where if they don't perform they stay there (Callinan) or if they perform they slot right back in (Vince / Johncock). What I am assuming will happen is that if they don't perform again they will have a much longer spell in the SANFL (Johncock) until they are absolutely dominating before they come in.

Those that are saying Lyons should be traded so he gets an opportunity need to chill out. Its round 5 and we have a healthy injury list with a lot of players performing in the SANFL. First opportunity needs to go the most talented players at the required position. Crouch is the most talented our young midfielders and he got first crack playing rds 2-4 before hurting his hammy. Kerridge is the next in line (pick 26) and he got his chance playing rounds 4-5. Next in line is Lyons. He would understand the pecking order and know that he is next in and needs to keep performing at SANFL level to keep pressure on Kerridge/Vince/Mackay.

I don't think Vince has been as bad as many on here want to think. Wasn't setting the world on fire in the first 3 rounds (but neither was 90% of the rest of our squad). I felt he actually played pretty well against the Power when he came on as the sub. Played 35% of game time and had 1 centre clearance and 4 clearances around the ground (Dangerfield had 1 centre clearance and 5 clearances around the ground in 80% of game time). Had 14 touches around the ground and used it well - 64% DE. What really let him down was his undisciplined acts which really hurt us. I think this is why he was sent back to WWT and hopefully he comes back in with a bit more discipline.

To me the most interesting thing will be how we use Smith this year. I thought that his last two years he has been developed beautifully playing across the half back line and was ready to jump full time into the midfield. I think his transition to a full time midfielder will be delayed one more year and he will spend the majority of this year floating across half back with a few stints in the midfield.
