Buss & Baker were held out of VFL yesterday which suggests they’re in line for a recall.

VDM for Baker.
Jones/Buss may come in - not sure who for though.

Ideally we’d rest one or two but losing last night makes it too risky.

Buss needs to come in so we can play Lobb forward and second ruck so Reid does not break a record of intercept marks. Also takes some pressure off Naughts and ensures Buku gets the third best defender.

Pretty thin after that Duryea and Baker possibly.

The only young player starting to put his hand up at the moment is Kennedy.

Outs through injury will pretty much dictate how many ins

Yes I've been against taking Lobb out of defence but we have seen in two games now (v GWS and v GCS) that opposing defences are going to gang up on Naughton if he's up there his own. Khamis is a solid trier but he's not really doing much damage to opponents as a KPF, so they know they can send any one of half a dozen players to him and concentrate their best on Naughton.

I'd be looking at completely reinventing the line up, with a few changes of position aswell as a few returning to rightful position.
Hopefully JJ is right to go noticed he pulled up sore.

Flakey is probably one thing you couldn’t call all players this year.

The effort and ability to run games has been good all year. Few bad lapses against Freo and Lions but I think flakey is really harsh

Melbourne by 39 points
West coast by 2 points
North Melbourne by 3 points
Sydney by 8 points

They are all currently in the bottom 6.
Their games against teams in the 8
Lost to hawks by 26 points
Lost to Adelaide by 61 points
Lost to Collingwood by 41 points

On paper you would say they are better than the bottom 6 but not up to top 8 teams. You never know the games aren’t played on paper.

But if we are serious this year we should be winning this but then again what impact will the Darwin trip have on us. In 2023 after our Darwin trip we dropped off in the last quarter.

We are alot fitter then in 2023 but that injury list is stacking up again.

Essendon play a bit taller with Wright, Caddy and Langford plays a bit taller.

I also think given Wright does second ruck we can’t go with Buku as our second ruck.

I’d push Davidson a bit more forward to give us a third tall type there rotating with Poulter on a wing.

We might need to swing Buku back and Lobb forward but the worry is wrights height if we do that
