Danger game on the rebound from the hot conditions
They have a decent defence which has stepped up the last few weeksDamn, Essendon with a sudden 5-3 record! Are they decent? Probably the squad I spend the least amount of time watching.

Dolan's decision making was so good in the last QTR vs Casey.Buss and Dolan for Gallagher and VDM. Williams back to the wing and Davidson more forward. Not against Duryea for Bramble either but feels unlikely. If Libba is needing a rest this is the week to do it.
If we’re serious we win this by 10 goals

They rave about how clean he is at the club. One touch player.
True, but he did get very little of the football and due to his age and size his pressure is not quite there yet. Will be very good once he can find more of the football and can get his pressure level upDolan's decision making was so good in the last QTR vs Casey.

There’s really no need to rest Libba if he’s feeling good and backing it up.Libba can rest when we have a bye. He was phenomenal - we need to win these games.
Bloke gets better and better with age
He’s a real life Benjamin Button
The problem is that Libba has the same drive as his father, you'd have to tie him up, sedate him and lock him in a room to stop him from playingMay be unpopular, but this is the game I rest Libba. Was already needing a rest per Bevo and now is coming off a huge game at a draining Darwin plus a couple long flights, have the Bombers this weekend and then a 5 day break before going down to Geelong. Give him the week off, freshen him up for the Cats game and then the bye so he only plays one game in 3 weeks. Not taking Essendon lightly, but thinking long term with Libba who has been busting his ass all season and we have a lot of footy left this year we need him for.
In - Duryea, Buss, Scott or Arty (as the sub)
Out - Laith, Gags (both injured), Libba (rested)
Williams back to the wing, Davidson to HFF, Buss down back and then potentially Lobb fwd to help Naughty out and give us another aerial option.
This is by far the toughest stretch of our fixture Suns, Bombers, Cats and Hawks. We need all hands on deck for this run. It eases up a lot after the Hawks game, so we can manage a few rests then if needed. There’s really no need to rest Libba if he’s feeling good and backing it up.
He hasn’t had a down week so far. I agree, the bye is in two weeks so unless there’s a genuine reason for it then he shouldn’t need a break.

To be fair their board is expecting to be beaten comfortably. Some of them have said they won't even watch itThere are just no excuses here. We have to win.
Bombers at their delusional best having scraped through with wins over the champion North, Eagles sides, so nothing short of a five goal win will do.
So the opposite of us?They seem to charge out of the blocks put on a lead and watch it disappear for the last quarter and a half.
Gotta give credit to Bombers supporters - they’re a realistic bunch. The reputation for overhyping the club is due entirely to the media nuffiesTo be fair their board is expecting to be beaten comfortably. Some of them have said they won't even watch it
I've heard this script before. To be fair their board is expecting to be beaten comfortably. Some of them have said they won't even watch it
I'm not saying it will be easy, I was responding to another poster.I've heard this script before.
The amount of Bombers fans conceding defeat last year prior to their demolition of us was bewildering.
In fact, the current odds are quite similar to the respective odds in 2021 and 2024 when the Bombers beat us. The only two times they've beaten us since Bevo took over:

97 is the highest score Essendon has achieved against Bevo. They've done this twice.
Essendon is the only opponent yet to score 100+ against the Great Man.
