Especially when 3/4 ins over the last 2 weeks are Gallagher Poulter A.Jones who have shown time after time they aren’t good enough

It’s also impossible to do anything if we’re too small.

If we start Buss at least we can go smaller if needed. Essendon are quite a big team which makes me worried only having 3 talls and Buku.

Yeah I'm a bit surprised Buss isn't in considering JODs form allows Lobb to play more forward time.

But then again if they double team Naughts he can just crash the pack and we'll outnumber them at ground level, which isn't a bad plan. As long as we deliver it well anyway.

Happy to see Doc back in, hopefully freshened up after a few weeks off and then a strong couple of weeks in the VFL. Still has a bit to give so hopefully finds form again.

Arty had two of his best ever weeks at VFL level (at least stats wise) so deserves another look. Hopefully he feels the urgency in his spot on the list and really takes this chance, imagine he will be the sub, but I wouldn't mind Bramble or Laith starting as sub either.

Essendon’s second & third talls are Caddy & Langford so not overly tall. In theory, Buku & Cleary or Williams could handle them if required.

I stand to be corrected but I don't think Arty Jones has achieved that in his AFL career. His last VFL game was promising however, with 24 disposals but it remains to be seen if we get more of a contribution than we have in the past. Could be his last chance so hopefully he can prove the doubters like myself, wrong.

JOD would fine on either. Caddy would be a hard matchup for Buss. Williams or Cleary probs a better matchup for him.

I was hoping he stayed in too to get another shot in better conditions, but going at 47% disposal efficiency killed him I think. Absolutely botched his shot at goal too which I believe went to West on the boundary line and counted as one of his effective disposals.

Yep, he went at 36% by foot. Apart from the one long kick that resulted in a goal, he struggled to hit a target by foot all night.

Thought he was ordinary personally. Had the worst disposal efficiency for us and second worst disposal efficiency of anyone on the ground.

Perhaps we can ignore Poulter's stats from this past game but his recent VFL form was more influential than Jones'. Can we also ignore the latter's stats which are averaging 7 disposals per game since debut?

Arty has assets we need skilful and fast. However, from what I seen at AFL level to date he fails the Jack Dyer test "do not get where the ball aint" because he needs to be harder the footy. He is running out of chances I hope he has turned the corner and performs well at AFL level.
