That's true - not an argument. However, I believe Crouch sn can reach that same level next year and offer just as much inside clearance work as Dangerfield does on the inside.

However, one area we really struggle on is the outside run and carry and apart from Dangerfield I'm not confident we have anyone else who can help us improve in this area.

What we may lose by moving Dangerfield to the outside, we will certainly pick up with Crouch sn and then the team will come out much bigger winners with Dangerfield on the wing.

It's a win win in my book.

Brodie Smith. Eventually.

Im not turning on him - he does need to pull his finger out...what you don't agree?
Yer he hasn't been great, maybe hes got high expectations by playing awesome early in the year. Still got 2 goals last night but I've got the faith he will get back into form.

Why can't we have 2 Danger's?

Brodie's development in the past 12 months has been incredible. I absolutely love him. Needs to be moved perma midfield if he is going to take that next step, though.

That right boot is the best in our team, by a long way.

Pass...Lynch or Pods I spose:confused: Smac and co cant step up or fit.
Can't see Lynch or Pod's doing it, If Smack showed something in the SANFL around the ground he would take JJs spot or Pod's if he was out of form, Sadly that has not happened.

Anyway we have to keep getting games in to JJ, He will come good, I just think he is either carrying an injury, Or is confused on what he is expected to do .

No you are right-probably confused.
We are certainly ruck exposed in Sauce goes down though such is JJs prowess.

He's played the majority of his AFL games without Tex and Pods up forward. I imagine it'll take some time for him and Tex to gel together.

Surely Reilly goes back out before Brown or Laird

I will clarify my selection.

To me our absolute best 22 from the side that played last night has 4 players missing. B Crouch, R Henderson, T Lynch and C Cameron. If we plan on making a run for the finals we need a good mixture of leadership and experience. I say Reilly stays for the immediate future because he is a 200 game veteran who has pressure game experience and quite frankly played well last night. I think he deserves every shot at staying in the team.

L Brown has been far from impressive the last 6 weeks and I would suggest Laird hasn't proven he is indispensable either. We are approaching our best 22, selection has to be tough. Remember I am only stating drop one of them for Ricky Henderson who is far more valuable.

Martin was good I thought and actually had 2 more possessions than Matty crouch in just over a quarter. Imi bras cones in and his brother goes out. Martin deserves to stay in

Absolutely spot on re the INS, i don't think there are many arguments there (VB would perhaps sneak in depending on team balance, but isn't really a chance for this year anyway).

Re Reilly, i think you're vastly overstating the positives of his experience, he's not great under pressure.

Also, we need to consider the balance of our defence…too many slow players at present who will get seriously found out by good forward lines.

The next few weeks is going to be very tricky IMO - I agree they will want to get all of Crouch, Hendo, Lynch and Cameron back into the side. They are also walking a tight rope in terms of running into the finals. It always takes a few senior games for any player to get back up to speed. So managing these players back without upsetting the balance of the side will be tough.

The other complicating factor is the only expendable players are not necessarily like for like.

B Crouch for M Crouch is easy.
Cameron for Martin - ok
Lynch for ?????
Hendo for ????

From last night you would say Martin was 22, M Crouch 21 and Wright 20.

You can't replace Wright with either Lynch or Hendo.

Easy to say Hendo for Reilly but I don't think selectors will go that way. Maybe Hendo to half back, Smith to mids then Wright out?

Leaves Lynch???? No idea how to solve that one:confused:

Never heard a crowd universally cringe before but when Tex kicked that sky scraper and JJ looked at every player around him before going for the ball - ouch. It was one of many ugly moments.

I love M Crouch but he looked like a little kid in the midfield last night. There were a couple of times where he got absolutely smashed. Will be a player but not for a few pre-seasons.

Ever since the 2012 final series he has been pretty bloody good.

B: Brown, Talia, rutten
Hb: Henderson, Otten, jaensch
C: Smith, Dangerfield, Sloane
Hf: lynch, podsiadly, Douglas
f: Betts, walker, Thompson
R: Jacobs, kerridge, b crouch
I: Jenkins, MacKay, Laird, Wright/Cameron

Happened right in front of me, but I thought he was judging who he could tap to rather than squibbing it.

Smith reminds me of Judd to be honest. Could transform our midfield from good to elite.

Brodie Smith (cover up the hair) looks like Judd

For me I'd go as follows:-

C Cameron in - B Martin out
R Henderson in - B Reilly out
B Crouch in - M Jaensch out
T Lynch in - J Podsiadly out

Harsh on Jaensch especially, and to an extent JPod but this is how'd I'd go if I was a selector.

Pretty good :thumbsu:

They just have to manage those ins so we don't have too many at once trying to adjust
