Brodie Smith (cover up the hair) looks like Judd

Bigger nose, less hair and they could be twins.

With Essendon going down to the Dees and Gold Coast likely to go down to Geelong next week, this game has become a head to head contest for 8th.

Time to man up and take what we want AFC.
Also Dees a chance v Roos, so all going well could jump a few places. Do the players really want it?

Another 8 point game.

Showdown will be another 8 point game as will be the Friday night game against the hawks.

Real shame we don't another even competent tall forward option as Jenkins was deplorable last night.[/QUOTE]

I agree we need to recruit another Key Forward in offseason as Pods won't be around for much longer and Johnston will probably get delisted.

However for Jenkins to kick 2 goals in a poor game is a positive. Everyone is gonna have a bad game occasionally. Jenkins was terrible last week and serviceable last night, but when a player is having a bad day he still needs to contribute in some way.

Jenkins ended up with 2 goals, 14 possessions and 5 marks. The Freo game looks to have dented his confidence a bit, but it's good to see him salvage something from the game.

Any chance Tex will get a rest this week? Been very sore the last 2 games from what I could see.

Haha true, but I have the feeling the Roos will be fired up to give the poor old Dees a hiding after us embarrassing them. Come on Bernie!!

Time for the boys to put the platitudes away and perform now. Some tough rounds to follow Essendon. Cough this one up and the fat lady comes on stage. Win it and build some momentum then fire up and win our showdown and its game on.

What

Otten has been good at all of the defending parts, but I really do wish he wasn't just about the worst kick in the side
What? He is no Smith but reliable.

Up to the coach to comprehend the magnitude of the situation and get the players on target accordingly. It's impossible to stress how big this opportunity is and they better be hungry for it.

If by reliable you mean he reliably kicks uncertain floaters, then sure. His kicking is horrible, always has been. I'd rather Jacobs run behind him for the pass off to kick it.

It's not pretty ill give you that but he gets them where he wants more often than not.

Because he knows his limits and usually doesn't try to kick beyond them. He's not a good kick of the football, just a sensible one.

And these are the games where we stumble, when there is the chance to get ahead. A MUST WIN game, time for some hard nosed decisions for the game.

Look purely at the match ups. We need more pace in the backline in our talls to match up on the mobile Paddy Ryder and Joe Daniher. Can Truck take Daniher?
While the Kedge is going to have to go to Goddard and do we let Laird a chance for redemption on Zaharakis?
Ideally would like to see B Crouch and Cameron come back in, but both are questions for differing reasons. Hendo unfortunately is at least another week away probably 2 as his inclusion would free up Smithers to a wing where he could do some real damage.
Going over for the game and it should be a cracker.
Some are saying M Crouch out, he did have 7 tackles second only behind Thommo who lifted for the game and needs to keep going now for the rest of the season. While I am a Laird fan, his job on Harvey shows he has a way to go yet, does he get another go if B Crouch is not suspended?
Such a massive chance for us to get to 8th possibly 7th.

He needs to add 6 to 8 kgs of muscle but.

Then he could be one that monster forward we need.
Don't agree, think he just has to play smarter. Its not posting up for the Townsville Crocs.
He has elite speed for a big man and needs to use this to push off and then lead. He needs better coaching on how and when to lead and to stay in the contest for longer.

And that is not matthew Jaensch.

He is a good stop gap player in a bottom 8 side and yes he's having his best season but I don't see him have that much more improvement.

Henderson and VB would be my pick for now.
Seem to remember a few saying that about Jaenschy at the end of last season.

If Cameron is fit he must come in. We must get as much game time into his legs as possible.

Fully agree.

Hopefully we have someone working with him.

In: Crouch, Cameron
Out: Reilly, Martin

Hendo to come in the week after. Did anyone actually watch Reilly's game last night? North kicked about 2 or 3 goals directly from Reilly trailing his opponent by about 5 metres. Not to mention the 2 or 3 mis-kicks from the backline that are par for the course for him and lead to turnovers. He's simply too slow and not good enough for AFL football.
