Laird a young player had a bad game, drop him
Playing on the Roos most in form player.

Sando gave him a good learning experience & didn't cost us the game.

Lairds man gets 31 disposals and 3 tackles and Laird gets 12 Disposals and 1 tackle. Add to that Laird can't kick a drop punt. If Jaensch, Reilly or Martin got those stats they would be shot on this site.

Against Freo, he had 29 kicks, 5 tackles and Crowley had 15 disp and 0 tackles. I get the idea people haven't been watching Boomer this year, as much as I don't like him, think he is a glory hunting goal hog, he has been phenomenal this year and will be AA ( All Australian, not Aggravating arseh*le).

Brad crouch was reported yesterday, he had a very good first half but fell out of the game after half time. Just before half tine he appeared to injure his leg but he did play the entire game out.

So, not sure if his fitness was an issue that caused him to drop out of the game, the knock played a part in how he went or the report played with his head.

Brad crouch isn't AFL ready.

Henderson needs another 2 SANFL games before getting AFL selection.

Cameron has a groin injury, but not sure how severe it is. He could be back this week but I don't know.

Unchanged in my opinion.
B crouch as sub?

Leave Brad Crouch in the SANFL and get him as ripe as possible for the showdown.

Give Hendo another 2 weeks in the SANFL also. Im worried about bringing him into what will be a hotly contested showdown. While he has improved in this area, Hendo can be a little soft sometimes and cherry picks on the outside. Yes, that is primarily his role given his pace and elite kick, however we are going to need all 22 players cracking in against the pear. Coming off of a fractured leg doesn't help the situation either....

Do we dare rest Danger? Id say yes. He seriously looks like he's operating at under 50% efficiency, he's seriously laboring.

Will probably go in unchanged for the bombers this week. Probably give Cameron one more week as well to rest up. Bombers aren't all that quick coming out of their backline in terms of athleticism, so I reckon we should be right for one more week.

Wright was a beast last night very smart and tough footballer. Showed how much we missed him v Freo. Best 22 in my eyes.

In B.Crouch (report pending), Cameron (if fit)

Out M.Crouch, Martin

Hendo for Reilly the week after. Truck looked sharp last night happy for him to play if he brings that level of performance. Hartigan could be an option on the Etihad deck however.
Agree with in outs but Truck was about as sharp as a bag of hammers:)

Brad Crouch has pretty much missed all pre-season and played one full game of AFL footy so with this in mind the best thing for Brad and the team is for Brad to play another full game rather than coming in and wearing the sub green vest

If Charlie Cameron is fit then it's one change for me.......

In - Charlie Cameron
Out - Brodie Martin

Think B Crouch will need another week or suspended.

Sando said in one of his presser's that CC will come straight back after week off.

So if that stays true maybe CC for Martin.

Should be a strong SANFL side next week with Lynch expected to return.

With crouch, Henderson, lynch and VB coming back in to the side over the next 6 to 8 weeks - it is super important that we win this week and win the showdown.

We have a easier last 6 weeks and should get 5 wins.

The next 2 weeks is make or break for the season.

Crouch the only change i might make, although as someone mentioned before, he had 7 tackes in a half of footy so brings some good agression. Martin did ok for a quarter, missed a few goals but no easy shots. another night he gets one or two them we would be raving he didnt get a whole game

Leave danger in, he had 17 contested and 10 clearances. Rest him against GWS in 2 games time.

Jenkins has been absolute garbage the last 2 weeks. Before that he was excellent for about 6 weeks.
no one is denying that, but christ some people are talking like they never want to see him in a crows jumper ever again!

give the guy a break! The 38 game basketball convert is an absolute gem in full flight, needs to be backed in.

Give him another year of development and another PS and he is going to be a monster.

Edit...to add to this he needs to have his mentor Pods and the coach's to continue to reinforce his pressure when he doesn't have the ball and not letting his player run off him so easily. Too often in the last two weeks he just doesn't go hard enough at the start.

After the Melb debacle I'm surprised that people are still banking wins in advance

Missed one person, who the **** goes out for Lynch? Do we drop a tall in Pods/JJ or do we drop a runner?

Lets just say for the sake of it:
M Crouch/Martin for B Crouch
Reilly for Hendo

Do we drop a Wright/Martin/Matt Crouch for Lynch since he's probably one of, if not the fittest/hardest working player in our side, or do we drop the tall?
He's probably just as quick as Wright and Crouch, with better marking ability and contributes more to our link between midfield and attack. Its a tough decision...

Pods had a good game last night but he makes way for Lynch IMO. Not a difficult decision.

Reilly doesn't deserve to be dropped on last nights game.

He was good with a few errant kicks. But overall he was solid.

Whether we like it or not, Reilly isn't going anywhere for the remainder of the season. May as well accept it and post changes accordingly.

Personally, I'm a bit torn as to whether B Crouch will come back in against the bombers. Ideally you'd like him to have 3 games in the twos, but equally ideally you wouldn't want his first game back to be a showdown. Tough call, but I'd probably bring him back this week because otherwise I can see him running completely out of gas with 25 mins left in the showdown.

Henderson needs a minimum of 3 SANFL games. Bring him back the week after the showdown.

For me this week it would be:
In: Cameron, B.Crouch
Out: Wright, Martin
Wright makes way mainly due to a lack of leg speed. M Crouch the sub.

Within the next month, Henderson and Lynch would come in for Podsiadly and M Crouch IMO.

Smith moves into the midfield (I honestly don't mind if it's a wing or a centre square role - he'll excel wherever he goes).

Henderson takes Smith's current role.

Lynch takes Podsiadly's current role.

Harsh on Pods, but with all of Jenkins, Lynch and Walker fit, I see him as 4th in line in a team that can only accommodate 3 of these players. Also harsh on M Crouch I guess, but at this very early stage of his career he's a depth player through the midfield. This will change when Thommo retires or we cop a midfield injury or two.

I hate to say it but I can't see a match-up for the big Truck next week. Daniher & Ryder will be way too mobile. I think he comes out and rests up. And if Tails goes to Schulz cant see a match up against the power either so may need to wait until the giants big forwards come around. If B.crouch gets a week suspension only change will be Hartigan for Truck. If Crouchy plays then Martin goes as well and we finally see the brothers in the 1's.

Doesn't really matter if he deserves it or not.

If bringing in Hendo for Reilly improves the side we do it regardless. Which it will - Hendo just needs a few more at SANFL level to get match touch.

How was Hendos pace and long kicking? Did you notice him in any pack marking contests?

If that bolded part is true and taken into consideration by the selection committee, then you have to include matthew Jaensch in that conversation.

Pace was good but looked very heavy in the legs.

Took a few nice pack marks as the 3rd man or or loose man floating into the pack.

I agree that he stays in the side. He just needs to be told to lift the intensity. His effort level the last 2 games has not been AFL standard. As long as he is being made aware of this issue, I have no qualms with his ongoing selection.
