Darling reminds me of our ruckman in the local footy comp.

This guy is such a bellend that he honestly won't compete in some marking contests. He 100% commits to his flop and going "Phwwoaarwh" when the ball is still in flight and he's felt the first bit of body contact from someone.

Sometimes the umpire gets sucked in, but others.... it honestly looks like the most pathetic thing you will ever see.

I'm all for milking a free kick if you can, but to take yourself out of a marking contest and not even compete because you're either on the ground looking at the umpire or still in the motion of being shot in the face is something else entirely.

So I take it you've moved on from Masten and only hate Darling now?

I've been dirt on Redden since his arrival, but have been keeping my eye on him in the last couple games. Does a lot of stuff off the ball and his defensive work, particularly his positioning and assisting the defensive set up behind him is top notch. He is clearly playing off a set of simple instructions and while he hasn't replicated his form at the Lions, I like the work he's doing
He is the new McGinnity.

I work 6 wks on 6 off offshore and live OS so miss a fair bit of whats going on, wheres Venables at, is he tracking as well and does it look like he was a good choice, or to early to say?
There's been a fair bit of discussion about Venables in the WAFL 2017 thread you might be interested in

In short, he's tracking well considered the slow start to his preseason as the club was very conservative with his recovery from the foot injury he came to the club with. Is only just running out full games now and kicked 4 goals from 14 possessions last weekend

On talent he looks a good choice and I suspect we'll see him in the wings later this season (after the bye sometime)

Cripps or Mutimer
Nelson or Butler
Petrie or Mcinness

Doubt we'll bring all three injured players in but intrigued as to which, if any, if the above changes we make

Id like to see Fraser and Mutimer get another week.
Cripps and Petrie might be ready but based on performance those two don't deserved to be dropped.
Agree.

Cripps was meant to be out much longer, so I think an extra week will only do him good injury-wise. Also I don't think you can say he's been sorely missed.

Petrie isn't a walk up start.

I would bring Nelson in as I think we may need him in defence against the Bombers' forward setup. I gather you might disagree with that one though, given the likely out...
