No changes.

Lets be honest, we should pick Essendon up without getting out of 2nd gear. Its these kinds of games that you want to keep the kids in for, because if they do stuff up then its likely to be less punishing. Duggan was decent coming back from injury, so he stays, and dropping Mutts after his last few performances sends absolutely the wrong message to both him and the playing group.

If players like Cripps and Nelson are so good then let them earn their way back into the side.

How many shots on goal did he have ? Maybe why hill is getting criticism
It's funny though.
When he is kicking his 2-3 goals a match and no doing defensive efforts he is criticised.
This game he spent all night putting defensive pressure on and he gets criticised for not kicking a goal.

Maybe his role in that game was to play up the ground and pressure the dogs run through the midfield. Worked a treat

Applying defensive pressure is all well and good however you still need to get the ball. No good having 22 players laying defensive pressure but not touching the ball.

I disagree with this so called "defensive pressure" anyhow. How often do you see him, yes putting slight pressure on but not actually making a tackle. He's happy to chase a few metres behind but not put his body on the line. For all his defensive acts he laid "2" tackles last night.

I just don't get the people madly defending Hill. I'd rather a player who perhaps puts a little less pressure on but provides an option up the ground so we don't have to continually bomb it away. It's exactly what Hill "should" be doing.
Agree it wasn't a perfect game but there must have been a dozen times where his pressure was causing rushed kicks

Hill had 10 disposals and 2 tackles for the game but must have got a rocket at halftime because he got 6 disposals in the 3 rd quarter ..
Hill had 2 disposals to hafltime pretty piss poor but improved in the 3rd then went back to skiing in the 4 th quarter ....

Unchanged id say.

Heard them say that Petrie is back this week but on last nights form Vardy and McIness stay in. Not sure the staus of Cripps and Nelson.

Little worried that McGovern and Barass may zone off too much against Daniher and Hooker

Hill is so lucky we have nothing in the cupboard, may well be Hill out Cripps in if he plays like that again.
Yeah I know, I know it's a cliche' now... but his pressure was excellent. Created turnovers and affected contests down the ground. Played a role, for sure. Has had a few good games leading into this week and holds his spot for now.

That, and it's hard to kick goals sometimes when you're not the one player forward of centre (JK) when we're defending deep inside our D50.

There's that word again "pressure", he needs to do other things rather than chase tails all game. If you want someone who all they do is put pressure on, you're better off recruiting the quickest runner you can find who can also lay a tackle every now and then. They don't need to be able to kick or handball

I rewtacjed some of the game and saw hill pressuring and at one point punching the ball in a marking contest causing a turnover which resulted in a goal.

Sure he wasn't big in possessions but maybe his role was different for us in pressuring and using his pace to impact their run from defence.??

Barrass has been poor a couple weeks now I'm happy to give him another week but the two guys in the wafl are doing well and can provide more than him currently. Barrass is good and the future so a spell won't hurt him
No.

You would expect Cripps to come back but for who is the question? Would be a shame to see Mutimer dropped.
Petrie is a possibility too but hard to drop either Vardy or McInnes after tonight.
Not sure on when Nelson is due back but is a possibility for Butler

Petrie should not be a walk up start. We should continue with McInnes for at least a couple more weeks. Cripps however is an automatic inclusion if fit imho

Would much rather play someone who is 25 than 35, so as long as Fraser keeps playing like he did last night he stays in. Can see Drew helping out nicely at EP hopefully showing Lamb and Allen a thing or 2.

Cripps definitely straight back in for me, more likely against GWS than Bombers though. Unfortunately Muts probably misses, when he returns, which sucks as I would like to see him get a bit of time to show what he can do.

Would you rather Hill or Cripps to be playing that role ?
