Hill unlucky but

butlerdance_zpsxj8sqcix.gif

haha, wtf is Butler doing!?

Just watched the boys down at Wesly
Cripps looked a bit proppy ...
Hill was running around with a big smile
..i cheekly asked him if hes playing. ..
body language suggests he is
Interesting .....but no sign of Darling anywhere
Fraser was looked really sharp
Butler was in the back 6 drills.
Bit of a crowd down there..guys as usual happy to mix and sign stuff.

Darling became a dad last night.

Not sure if he got the plane over today or not.

Actually... I should clarify - what I have been told is he was in king edwards hospital last night.

I leapt to the conclusion that he became a dad - it may have been pregnancy complications as well.
If there is an issue with Court and the little man, he needs to stay in WA

Yeah I agree that as a forward Hill offers more. That being said, Mutimer has gotten better every game and the upshot of his inclusion is that the experience he will get from continuing to pick up the speed of AFL. We will have to see how the formation works tomorrow.

Agree that Mutimer has gotten better every game. Personally I would have brought in Cripps for Redden and played Mutimer in the midfield but can't see Simpson dropping Redden in favour of Mutimer. This game is very winnable, hope this work out OK anyway.

Geez. Hope everything is OK there, understandably he needs to be at home if there is complications.

Would have been easy to go in unchanged and I don't want this to be seen as a Hill bashing post but I'm glad to see a statement has been made there.

Agree with the sentiments on Mutimer as well. Hasn't been a game breaker and would be in the bottom 6 picked you'd expect but it's a great learning curve for him and his getting better every game, after a sub standard debut albeit played out of position. Looks a lot more natural as a midfielder.

My problem with 'statements' like these is they tend to only apply to a few players. Hill can have one bad game after several very good ones and he is on the chopping block. Others can go weeks or months and never feel the heat.

We know Hill does not perform well in big games when the pressure's on. He never will.

Mutimer has to be given a chance to prove himself

Is that actually true? I mean, I feel if you were going to point the finger at Hill in that regard then there would be another 25 blokes on the list you could apply the same heat to.

So hill winning a RG medal in a derby for example would be him not performing in a big game yeah

Agree. I think with our injury list reducing we might want to make statements about show ponies. I would have dropped Darling (diving) and Lecca (50m dribble) for Lamb and Cripps.
I accept that Lamb may not have warranted it but its about time JD (and Lecca) were made to earn their spots (like all those who have been dropped). And we have had Lamb on the list for a while now and he is not getting games. Time to make the call on him - can he play or not?
Similarly, Jack the Lad needs to be reminded he is not indispensable.

So the criteria for selection is drop any player that makes a silly mistake and promote guys that haven't earned a spot, not pick best 22.
Seriously, anybody think we're well in with a crack at premiers this year? Well, it's early, but it looks like we're as much a chance as anyone.
Play best 22 each week to win IMHO.

He aint good at all, sorry.
Challenge for you is to post at least one positive thing about the team you "support".

Given your history I suspect you'll fail.

Geez we are starting to sound like a freo board here. Stupid comments and overbearing hate on our players. We can't have 18 A graders out there, and throwing first gamers in the middle is hardly a solution for anything. Do we even need a solution at the moment?? We are tracking rather well and we are seeing game on game improvement in game style, intent and what we are trying to deliver.
