Is Pav in any trouble for that hit on Ambrose - intentional, high, low impact is worth what?
No Pav or Apeness will mean a totally different forward line from last night, unfortuantely
I thought he might be, but it wasn't even looked at by the MRP

With Apeness out, does Tanner get the gig?

I don't think so. It appears that they don't rate Tanner Smith as AFL quality and would more likely go back to Clarke or go back to being small and add a Langdon or Grey.

Personally I would be interested to see how Smith would go as he is a big body and appears to be playing the best football of his career, but seemingly not good enough for a gig in the seniors. Uber is going to pass him but is too raw for the seniors (as a key position especially) at this point.

I agree with you. I know Tanner is unpolished but he played well in the round 23 match against Port last year playing in defence, and he will compete, split packs, and likely hold a contested grab or two up forward. I think it is madness not to try him. At least he will give effort and his knees work.

Griffin is an honest trier but is looking fairly cooked by the fourth quarter shouldering the ruck duties by himself.

Clarke in for Apeness for me.

I know's he's been as useless as a one-legged man in an arse-kicking contest lately, but he has been performing in the WAFL and is infinitely superior to Hannath.

He played one game in the seconds this season before doing his calf. Should play for Peel this weekend but will need to string together some strong performances before he gets a look in.

Apeness out is a problem.

Do I think that Clarke is a good replacement. Well no. According to the WAFL watchers he was the pick of the talls on the weekend but if history tells us anything it is that we suc when both Griff and Clarke are in. Griff is a better forward (IMO) but neither are that wonderful. In the ruck it doesn't matter who you think is better neither is sandi and with his dodgy knees I sense that Clarke is reluctant to get physical with bodies as big or bigger than his own. I am very reluctant to give him a gong.

My preference would have been Ubergang but by all accounts he was less then impressive on the weekend and you just can't reward poor form.
Hannath is another ruck type entry but to be honest I have not been impressed and I would not put him in. Smith is the only remaining tall of note to look at and he also was less than impressive on the weekend i understand and he is really a defender. Do I want a defender in the side and then have to move a crozier forward. Definitely not. I would be stuffing around with the rolls after the last few weeks.

The brings us to other types. Mora, Grey, MDB and the Gu being those that received positive comments from the WAFL watchers. Whilst all have been in the midfield Mora has been primarily in the half back line so I would be say not for him. The Gu is always full of run but the MDB has been playing really well for the last few weeks and has historically played a bit in the forward line. I would love to see Grey in but he is a genuine Mid and I didn't see much when he was rotated forward with Peel.

I don't really like the idea of putting in a mid for a forward but as unpalatable as it is. Needs must and all that. MDB in.

No other changes

I'd highly doubt either of them would play for us before the bye, but injuries permitting should be a big shout to come in after it

Hannath can offer all of that too but I think we need more than that unless its a player that we see as a part of the future eg. Apeness.

I would like to see Matthew Uebergang come in for Apeness, just to give him a taste and it isn't like Brisbane have big hulking defenders.

I guess, just seems like a player that needs another full preseason before you can expect him to have any sort of impact (nothing unusual about that being a key position type). I think Uber had a chance to show Ross that he was ready last weekend against good opposition but fell short and therefore would be very surprised if he got a go this weekend. Fully expect to see Clarke out there again.

Anyone else excited that Mora seems to be in all the pictures about WAFL watch this week including on Facebook, this year there has been a trend that these players get picked more often then not.

I'd like to sere Uebergang too, but I'm not expecting it. Though being in Qld, I think at the very least we should be bringing him as an emergency to enable him to visit family and give him some travel experience. I tell you what, if he does play, then I reckon we can rule a line through Smith and Hannath.

Being conservative and old fashioned, I prefer 2 rucks, so just Clarke for Apeness for mine. I'm not sold on Taberner or Dawson being 2nd ruckmen.

Give mora a run. What's the worst thing that could happen that hasn't happened before. He is in our future. God forbid he reimburse his knee then he is gone ((

Tabs was pretty ordinary in the ruck from what I can remember. I understand he had to ruck once Apeness went off but he was in the ruck in the 2nd qtr. Apeness struggled in the ruck even more than Tabs did and only recorded 1 hitout. Somehow Daniher jumped on his head at one centre bounce.

Pretty sure that was after Ape hurt himself in the collision with Goddard.

Two rucks for mine, is essential against Brisbane's current situaish.

They were going better when Martin went solo in the ruck and Walker gave him short chop. Walker has been dropped, West in (useless as a fwd, as is Stef), which means theyve been diabolical collectively in ruck/fwd.

Get the feeling West will be dropped and Stef asked to go solo. I'd exploit that - back in Clarke and tell him and Griff to run their guts out v one opponent.

If West isn't dropped, doubt Griff can go solo v 2. And they'll have a disfunctional fwd line.

10 marks again on the weekend in key position. His kicking may be erratic but he is going to smash the packs and bring the ball to ground as a forward. He can also pinch hit in the ruck like Apeness did last week.
Pretty disappointed really that he isn't going to even get a go at the top level when we have SO many injuries and a massive hole in the forward line !

Tanner has held the backs together against two of the top WAFL sides the last couple of weeks with Collins in the seniors. He has been outstanding.

Think Peel have a bye this weekend One_Wing so unfortunately no dice
