Changes v Brisbane

Jonas chose to bump and knocked the guy out. ...
He did no such thing. Roberton got up and ran to cover space on the RHS of where Hamish Hartlett took the free. Watch the replay before quoting something that isn't correct.
The interview at half time is what got Jonas.

Huge out for the Lions, given our ability to apply forward 50 pressure Hanley's ability to run and carry and just generally be creative with his movement and ball use would be a huge loss.

Elliot Yeo will most likely take over his spot. Could actually be a saving grace for us.

Serious question to you lot... Any of you people in any way shape or form afraid of Crazy Vossy?

The lions performances under Crazy Vossy range from absolutely bad (Smashed by the Kangaroos and the Bulldogs at ES) to very good (Pulled off an unlikely win over the cats). Yet rarely have a game in between.

The game is winnable on Ports current form though.
We then also beat the Kangaroos in our second clash just recently. This year we have become a bit better at the closer games, such as the Roos one that i mentioned, and beating the Suns twice, who have become a different team this year.

We could have some or all of Brown, Moloney and Golby (but prolly not Black) back this week, but now also lose Hanley. Our Ins and Outs will be very interesting this week.

Port at home is a huge proposition this year though, and although I think it will be close (-ish, hopefully), the advantage rests firmly with Port this week. Hope it's a cracker though.

Yep, we've had that discussion at our end as well. Bad memories.

Sorry, what?

I only remember good memories.

Hanley out is obviously handy for us in isolation, but it also means Cornes is free to take Daniel Rich out of the game. Rich is more bi-polar than Hamish Hartlett when it comes to his tagged performances versus his non-tagged performances. If Kornes can focus entirely on him, that's a huge advantage for us.

I guess it depends on what end of the missed round-arm swings you're standing on. ....
That happened "right in front of me". ;)

Brown back in is a worry. Memories of Roughhead and Gunston last home game.

We would need a small defender to take green;
IN: T.Logan,K.Cornes,D.Cassisi
OUT: T.Jonas, J.Neade, Don't know who will be the last out maybe wines (rest)

Cassisi to go to zorko or rockliff

Me too. ;)

Jokes :p , it should be an interesting match this weekend. Definitely will depend upon the team selections tomorrow night.

Rubix plz, that's nothing.

We won 6 in a row from 1954 to 1959.

A pretty in depth analysis of the match in the Lions' official podcast from 2:15 here if anyone's interested:

Neade needs a rest. I would like to see Ben Newton given a chance in Neade's role. From what I've seen of him he is fast enough, good at applying pressure and he is a tackling machine.

Hombsch is the obvious replacement for Jonas.

Someone has to make room for Cornes and Cassisi. I would omit Moore and Colquhoun.

As for the sub. I would go with Wines as he seems to need a slap in the back of a head and he played well when he came on against Collingwood.

The way Ken spoke today it seems as though P Stew could replace TJ which would leave just the one change with Kane in for Neade. I'd be a bit annoyed if Moore or Hoon go out.

He also mentioned Hombsch though...

To people who want Colquhoun to retain his spot, is it for the sake of his development or is it because you actually think he'll help us win the game? If it's for the sake of his development, then please get out of the Primus mindset and realise that we're in a heated race for 8th spot this year, not hanging around with the Saints and Bulldogs around the bottom 4. If its because you think he'll actually help us win the game, then lol.

Despite being a massive fan of his, I can't see Hombsch getting a recall this week either. If Hinkley didn't pick him against Franklin/Roughead/Hale/Gunston and Riewoldt/Lee/McEvoy or Hickey, he's probably not going to pick him against Brisbane's forward line of short people and defenders who are playing up forward like Staker and Merrett because they don't have any proper key forwards. More likely to be Heath or Logan to take Jonas' spot. Either that or the re-shuffle mentioned by DonDraper where Kane replaces P. Stew in the midfield and P. Stew goes back into his defence (which is where he should be playing every week, IMO).

Primarily for his development and there is no player in the SANFL that demands a spot over him....Thomas was our player of the week...Ken seems very keen on Sammy long term ....I'm happy to go with carrying him a little until he is up to speed.

I think having Colquhuon, Wines, and Neade in is probably overkill, so one of them should be dropped. I would like to see Colquhuon stay in the side though if possible.

This weeks changes will be interesting for sure.
