Thommo won't be able to use his 'hardness' when he's 25m away from his direct opponent
At least he might be able to get the ball out of a contested situation unlike what we have ATM

Thompson's main weakness as he ages has been inability to keep up with the increasingly fast pace of the game.Thommo won't be able to use his 'hardness' when he's 25m away from his direct opponent
Jenkins had the season of his career last year and leveraged that to hold the club to ransom with a contract he did not deserve. Good luck to him, well played Jenkins. He is a soft ordinary player who i would be happy to trade and even pay part of his wage to get a draft pick and free up space for a real forward in gov. If we lose Gov and Lever due to Jenkins and Brad Crouch then they have lost me.There is no point dropping Jenkins at this stage. We all know he struggles with anything more than a bruised fingernail BUT he has been one of the best key forwards in the AFL in 2015 and 2016. He has played poorly over the last 2 weeks but so has about 20 other players. The forwards were given no chance against the Kangas and all the forwards struggled on Saturday night.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Hampton dropped (Greenwood for Hampton is a straight swap) however he played well defensively in the first 6 weeks.
Otten deserves to keep his place before some I have retained but I doubt if even you believe he is a better key forward/ruckman than Jenkins. Talia, Lever and Hartigan are in front of him as tall/tallish defenders so IMHO he is the next in line if any of these guys are not available.
Kelly is a very honest footballer but I would prefer to see what the next players in line have to offer. Menzel works hard and always looks like he about to have a breakout game but he must kick goals if he wants to keep his spot.
I would like to see some or all of Greenwood, Beech, Wigg, Poholke, Doedee and Gallucci given a chance over the next 8 weeks. Can we afford to keep playing journeymen who make little or no difference to team performance on their best day's out?
I'd add blame to most of the players refusing to commit to winning the contest (any contest)If Pyke's solution to the last 2 weeks is to bring back Thommo then he has lost me as a fan. At the moment, my blame is (fairly or unfairly) directed towards Camporeale and Clarke, giving some benefit of the doubt to Pyke. But this decision will remove any doubt that Pyke will not win us a flag.

They've called for it a few times already this year. Based purely on him playing nearly every game last year, not on any inside knowledge or exposure to his SANFL form.Based on the noises in the media Thommo is a lock to come in. Can't believe it.
We know our clubThe fact people in the club are beginning to talk up Thommo spells massive trouble.

Is Thommo the gastro in this analogy?I hope you're not confusing me preferring Thommo over Mackay as "talking Thommo up". It's like being given a choice between gastro and Influenza A.
I almost think it would worthwhile to allow Thommo to spud it up for a game or two to finally end the Thommo is the answer bs.
No because he never runsIs Thommo the gastro in this analogy?
Im hoping there is an element of pressure testing the game plan in the last 2 weeks. Hopefully he has worked out that it doesn't handle the pressure and the coaches have some work to do.The last two games have created a pattern for success that will ensure every single side adopts the exact same tactics against us.
It's completely fine that a game plan isn't successful against every tactic and style. What we need to prove is that we have alternative game plan(s) that can likewise counter this current style challenging us.
Let's not be stubborn and blindly attempt to "back in our gamelan". Pykey, don't let your pride get in the way of winning football games. Use your brain and out think the opposition.
Strange choice by Pyke there."back in our gamelan"
