Good selections. Our issue isnt individuals or lack of star power on any particular line. Our issue is mindset and that we have allowed softness to creep into our mentality.

This week we have cut our 2 softest players and bought in a kid who is willing to have a crack and a rookie whos debut comming off another sport speaks volumes in itself.

The club has identified the fact that softxock disease spreads and have cut the cancer at its core. THIS IS QUITE THE REVELATION!

NTrabbit, I seriously doubt you have ever played this sport, or any sport for that matter.
I dont care how out of form the Crouch boys are, they give a crack every game.
You are a Dreamteam warrior who thinks teams are built on star trades and big names in certain positions. You are clueless.

Teams are built on an even spread of effort and willingness to get hurt for the cause.
The Crouch boys bring this in spades even when they are out of form. Drop them before you drop the softcocks that were dropped this week and you end up like Collingwood. A midfield full of superstars who show about as much heart and team ethic as that which we have come accustomed to from the likes of JJ and Dmac.

The don't play injured players team...

B: Brown, Talia, Lever
HB: Smith, Otten, Laird
C: Milera, Mrouch, Atkins
HF: Lynch, Walker, Douglas
F: Hampton, Jenkins, Betts
R: Jacobs, Brouch, Sloane
I: Kelly, Greenwood, Mackay, Gallucci

Out: Hartigan, Menzel, Cameron all injured
In: Lever, Greenwood, Gallucci
Picked the 3 ins, but only 1 of the outs... though did day in an earlier post was between an out of form JJ & Hartigan who is carrying a niggle... & certainly not upset by Mackay dropped instead of CC, who I hope can work through his injury.

Hartigan's carrying a niggle??

Nah, like too many of our players he's been found out when the heat has been turned up to high the last 2 weeks.

Has been mentioned that he has been sore in recovery, compared to usual. Doesn't excuse his performances, but some players carry niggles better than others.

I've got a feeling they know Galluci's output isn't going to be huge but it's most probably going to match Mackays anyway.

So they might as well get the games into Galluci now.

That's my thinking anyway and hopefully I'm right so we shouldn't see Mackay come back in if Galluci has anything between 12-18 possession games.
Good game to play Gallucci as plenty of inexperienced Lions.

Give him a taste before Knight is ready to return.

Who'd move out of the back line to accommodate that though? Talia, Hartigan, Lever, Kelly, Brown, Laird or Smith?
Would like to see Laird more through the middle, like before Brouch returned. Allows us to play Hampton more as wing/HFF.

Nice to see some debuts. My main concern on the weekend was our approach to our midfield strategy and positioning of players. I still wanna see more experience in the midfield by utilising Laird and Smith.

Very debatable on the TAC games I've seen, I'm talking set shots mainly.
Sprays on the run when he tries to kick long

Don't reckon he will get many possessions forward but his pressure with his speed could be enormous and help free up Cameron to go further up ground ( if fit )

And Stefan Martin will ensure our mids don't get silver service from Sauce, not that they did last week either even when Sauce dominated the H.O. count, probably the worst 74 hit outs just about ever for placement to advantage.

he's reverted to some of his deer in the headlights form from his first 15 games.

hopefully he can get over that quickly, he's put in some solid performances in big games the last 18 months or so. I wouldn't be writing him off.

Hopefully he can slow the thought-process down a bit. He's got plenty of pace to break away so he need not worry about kicking at full pace just yet
In his U18s he used to try kick it too hard and lose his shape and technique . Just needs to time it when running at speed because it will sail with that momentum
