If JJ isn't the first to go I will be amazed the last 3 weeks have been deplorable watching him, he was out 4 games prior so that goes without saying

Are we sitting here with our finger crossed hoping he turns it around

If this is the case, wouldn't it be better to 'rest' him for a week? To allow him extra time to get over his injury?

He's certainly playing scared

He needs to find form but not to the detriment of the team this is why there is a reserved team, JJ is a good player but not like he is at the moment I may aswell stand in the pocket instead of him at least I would hit someone

Biggest mistake of the year was putting him the A s when at the time there was no need to, let him get the confidence when the result doesn't matter in the reserves

We won't make a statement at selection. Forced changes only, except Menzel as last in will be dropped if either of Knight or Lever is right to go.

What I'd like to happen;

Out
Lynch - Fluffing too much easy shit, if dropping a senior player type statement will help, he's in the leadership group, he'll do.
Otten - Good depth, but he's not a starter in a side who wants to perform at a top 4 level and if Lever returns, it's pretty obvious that we need a bit more run and resources around the contest.
Mackay - 12 touches from 76% TOG in a midfield role going at 58% effective. Just brushed aside too often and after 160 games, we know that's exactly what we get if we're not smoking teams. If only we had Brisbane at home this week, there'd be a good reason to see if we could run him back into form.

In
Greenwood - FFS, give the guy a go, he's exactly what we seem to be lacking, we've given Hampton 7 games in there, he can't be much worse.
Knight - If fit, had a shocker last week amongst many other shockers, but can play and was good before his week off. If not fit, give Galucci a go.
Lever - If fit, otherwise Otten stays to play in the back half.

On the edge
JJ - I'd be just as happy with Otten going forward and JJ heading to the 2's
Hampton - Only gets a reprieve to see how he goes in Mackay's role, if he's not an improvement on Dmac then he can be added to our depth list.

The statement should be form, Hampton, JJ, Menzel have done nothing all year so far they are the first to go, Mackay because he is a number 20 to 22 picked and needs to show something every week and he didn't we would be better giving Wigg a crack

Too come in Greenwood, Beech, Wigg, Lever don't think knight deserves to be selected just because we are adjusting the deck chairs he was crap last week he needs to prove he deserves a spot

I didn't think it was possible but his rucking has got even worse this seaaon

The board like the selection panel has a problem with calling out players to be dropped, If we are to win a premiership he no doubt is needed we won't even get to a GF if we continue to pick him and have a player playing the way he is. He played well in the first game that's it full stop.

He needs to find form in the twos if we are to be anything in September

Thought it was interesting that we used Otten in the ruck ahead of him for the previous two weeks when Jenkins returned prior to last night - and I wonder if that was more due to the position he was playing in the backline.

Guess it may have been because Jenkins was still sore or maybe because we don't lose out anymore by throwing Otten into the ruck and he can at least be seen around the ground.

What irks me is that other clubs seem to be playing draftees from last year and even this year. We are reluctant to develop new talent and only seem to play rookies when there is injuries. We need to move away from this broken culture which backs players in regardless of performance or because of the contract they are on. If we don't change, we won't get better as a football club.

Last night was pathetic. Pykey must make changes.

In - Lever
Out- Jenkins
Jenkins was pathetic. Not fit and was soft as butter. Lever to back Otten back forward/ruck

In - Wigg
Out - Mackay
Mackay was invisible again. I dont know what photos he has of the coaches but they must be incriminating. Wigg cant do anymore and must be given a chance

In - Greenwood
Out - Hampton

In - Beech
Out - Menzel

F Beech Otten Betts
HF Greenwood Walker Milera
C Atkins Douglas Sloane
HB Smith Talia Lever
B Brown Hartigan Kelly
Ruck JAcobs M Crouch Laird
Inter B Crouch Wigg Lynch Cameron

The Brisbane game was PW's 'no more garbage from senior players' game, sadly we never got the chance to see what came of it.

This HAS to be Don's.

Time for the Gooch and Thor to get a run, Lever and Knight also MUST be back in.

Really miss Cheney in the back line too. :( - you know, someone that can actually lock down and defend.

Drop ANY of the following who spudded it up last night:

Hampton
Douglas
Mackay
Jenkins
Atkins
Brouch

Absolutely embarrassing and woeful effort. Cannot believe we didnt turn up and played a soft weak game like the crows of old.

I'd drop Kelly for Doedee if Tom has a good day today.

I can't for the life of me think why you would pick Mackay over Wigg

You know what Mackay is gonna provide and it isn't much

Wigg might not be very good. But he might be good. If he's not very good we aren't missing anything by having him take Mackay's spot
If Wigg turns up to the oval it's already an improvement

Confidence saps any speed. Brouch is quick too but we never see it
I've wondered for a while if Brad's foot injury has meant that we have to limit his workload on the track so it doesn't flare up. Just doesn't seem to get across the turf. Not explosive or powerful which is what I remember from him in 2013.

Changes:
Didn't watch game and have no intention after reading some of the comments but would prefer to state the changes we need as a club once all players are fit.
In: Gov, Cheney/Doedee, Knight, Seedsman, Greenwood, O'Brien
Out: Kelly, Mackay, Jenkins, B Crouch, Milera, Menzel, Otten.
Players we need to trade in:
Brody Grundy, Dustin Martin.

Players we must keep: Gov, Lever, Laird, Sloane, Talia. Rest would all be tradeable if the right deal was there.

Players would trade out asap regardless of contract:
Bcrouch, Jenkins, Mackay, Menzel.

Douglas had the most contested possessions on the ground from both teams can't say he didn't have a crack.

After last week the players were given the old Neil Craig style 'golden tickets' chance to respond routine. The Crows just dont seem prepared to go hard for the ball. We have had two sides clearly play like its a Grand Final against us and we simply have failed to mentally step up and be the boss team. We have the talent but yet seem unwilling to work. I think we need to send a statement now to the playing group to try and lift them mentally. Otherwise we will just continue to drop games we should win.

Players whose form is poor and would be lucky to get selected next week:

Hampton, Cameron, Mackay, Otten, Brown, Kelly, Atkins, Menzel and B Crouch.

Obviously can't drop them all but a statement needs to be made.

Twice the Crows have left Sloane hanging now with a heavy tag and not one player belting the tagger. Vince is a good bloke and is texs best mate but its a professional game of footy and he should have been smashed into by multiple players at every contest. Pyke should be demanding that next week against Brisbane as the very first thing he fixes.
