He tried his absolute hardest last night and ended up with 11 possessions and about 4 shanks under no pressure by foot

And people think Wigg is bad ! At least he will get it 20 times + and get better with games

Menzel was at his best last night in terms of effort and still sub par by plenty

I would put Wigg on the wing

I don't care if he's kicking clangers like he did in the JLT because at least he can actually get the ****ing ball which would be an immediate improvement on MacKay.

Honestly if MacKay is not replaced with either Wigg or Seedsman this year then there's something clearly wrong with the selection committee.

If Wigg doesn't get a shot next week he'd be within his rights to tell the club to **** off

If after 3-5 consecutive games thats the case, I agree. Needs that continuity first before i write him off

If that is the case after 3-5 consecutive games then i would agree. However he needs to be given that continuity before i write him off.

His kicking will be fine . It's his size and contest stuff that needed work . He needs to take more simple options with kicking as has taken his license to take risks too far

We need some refreshing , bring in Wigg Galluci and Greenwood

We cleaned out Kerridge, Grigg, Wright, Lyons etc. Wigg is about that standard. Nearly but not quite.

Everyone else at least afforded that opportunity , he's better than alot of players that have been given a shot

Correct there are only three players deserve a crack for performance combined with effort and that is Greenwood beech and Wigg so if you want it that way they are the only three that deserve a crack from the two's knight has to get some results before being given another shot and Lever can come straight back in

Completely agree. B Crouch was absolute puke (for the 2nd week running). He did have a goal assist though (to Betts for our first goal of the game). Yayyy Brad. His footy IQ is disturbingly low. Has regressed sharply.

He has to start imposing himself on the game. He's definitely having no trouble finding the ball, but he just has to start doing a lot more with it.

I'm not an advocate at all of dropping him because it's the Taylor Walker scenario all over again because there's no point sending him back to dominate in the SANFL because he'll learning nothing from it.

Wigg is equivalent to Grigg but with a Jarryd Lyons type kick. Not abysmal, but bog average.

He has zero weapons. Won't make it

Douglas had the most contested possessions on the ground from both teams can't say he didn't have a crack.

Douglas has been one of the few who have been alright both games.

Dear hasn't done a thing this year and tbh, he's no chance of ever playing a game for us. We won't replace either of Otten or Jenkins with a tall forward if either / both of them ever get dropped. It'll be Lever replacing Otten, or Beech / Greenwood coming in and then a shuffling of the deck.

Poholke can't even get it 20 times at SANFL level. Is comfortably behind Beech and Greenwood who share similar traits as players.

Knight (if fit) and Wigg are right in the frame instead of those two.


What I would do is...

Out: Menzel (omitted / inj), Mackay (omitted), Hampton (omitted), Cameron (managed), Jenkins (omitted)

In: Greenwood, Knight, Beech, Wigg, Lever (Gallucci the travelling emergency and/or substitute for Knight if Riley isn't right to go)

Now I'm fully aware this is a 0% chance of happening.


In all likelihood, Menzel will miss due to injury, and the changes will be Lever and Knight replacing Menzel and Otten. Otten's body of work this season is far more impressive than Jenkins', and Josh's fabled "superior pace" is currently the least useful attribute of any player in the squad. He's playing like a lazy campaigner who got paid, and has no business being selected against Brisbane.

My thoughts on a few that need to be replaced after the past two weeks for us to become even competitive..
Otten. Too slow and only useful up forward now.
Mackay. Worst 150 gamer of all time and likely ever going forward. Selectors should all be sacked for his continual selection.
B.Crouch. Great first game back. Terrible since. Fumbles, panic handballs to others under pressure and cant kick a drop punt. Needs to gain some touch in the SANFL. Real shame.
Kelly. Not AFL standard, doesnt defend.

On thin ice: Cameron, Jenkins, Brown, Hampton, Lynch, Menzel

Out: Otten, Mackay, B.Crouch, Kelly
In: Lever, Wigg, Greenwood, Doedee

Seriously considered Thompson given our deplorable centre clearances over the past 2 weeks.
At least Wigg will get the ball and tackle, has to be better than Mackay. Couldnt bring in Knight after his most recent effort.

Wigg soured because of his disposal in the JTL, but at this point though I am all for giving MacKay's spot on the wing to Wigg. Even if he does turn the ball over, at least he is actually finding frigging ball which would be an immediate improvement over MacKay.

I would give Wigg a shot for a few games and then if he's still turning the ball over I would bring Seedsman in once he's fit.
