Does Greenwood have any C U next Tuesday about him?

It's a big weakness in our current side. Not a one of them lift a finger to put some hurt on the opposition tagger blanketing Sloane.

Is Greenwood likely to bring a bit of attitude to go with his frame? Will he throw his weight around our is he another choir boy/faux tough guy?

And in the first six rounds we didn't look as soft as butter with the same personnel.

It's an attitude and application issue

Gameplan is too reliant on playing fast and in space. Slingshot football is highly entertaining but if we're denied space and can't get a man free out the back of the contest we're stuffed. We can't stand up to pressure. We need a more physical prescence around the ball which is a personnel issue. Coaches not blooding young players is a coaching issue.

Not sure if he's at campaigner level but he's definitely no squib, plays with a team ethos, tackles hard, doesn't crap his dacks with footy in hand...big improvement on the incumbents.

Oh, and like guys like Laird and Lever, he seems to be extremely driven to succeed and compete every contest, every week.

If he doesn't get a game this week we are a joke.

I want him in. Want him to succeed.

Give him Hampton's spot. That bloke has no place pretending to be a midfielder at centre bounces.

The Crouch brothers need to be instructed to man up and fly the flag also.

So sick of us being soft and individualistic. Close ranks. Bully the oppo.

Can't believe we're still on top lol.
Oh well. It's round 8. We need to keep improving like Pyke has said all along.
We can draw inspiration from a certain poster who often frequents the non crows thread, and say the last two weeks are all part of a master plan to lull the comp into a false sense of security, keep something in reserve for finals. Look, we're still top, it's working. You'll see.

Keep Menzel in for one reason.

He wasn't part of the dross against Norf.

Menzel might have been poor last night but many others were both last night and last week.

They're the ones who should be tapped.
We need to make multiple changes, even if it hurts short term. The message needs to be if you put up shit like the last 2 weeks, you will get dropped.

Don't care if it means playing thomo (which I'd normally be dead against). I don't care if the changes aren't like for like. Make a statement at selection.

Brown Hartigan Lever
Doedee Talia Hampton

He was only poor in his disposal.
I know he can kick a ball well when playing with confidence.

His endeavor was more than adequate and better than most.

He would be one of the last on my list to go out based on last nights display.

Yoghurt is actually more physically consistent and harder.

The way we're playing, it's lucky we're playing Brisbane: they're probably the only other team we're in with a chance against next week. ;)

If we dont mentally turn up for this game, the Lions will roll us.

I must admit I am concerned about a game where only two weeks ago, I wasnt at all.

I drunk reasonably heavily last night, I just remember thinking what the **** about the whole game.

Was Mackay bad, bad bad or ******* Mackay?

With only 12 disposals you may have missed them every time you were served a drink. :drunk:

:p

Admittedly I dont know just how bad he was as well as I drank heavily too last night fortunately, but usually if he has only 12 disposals, history suggests that he was likely to have played shit.

He butchered the ball in his low disposal count. But it's his tackling that was unforgivable: brushed aside like a child. Probably cost 3-4 goals directly. He was also completely hopeless as soon as he collected the ball because he was almost instantly tackled and has no ability to break a tackle

He was what he always is unfortunately.

That's the problem - he's played over 120 games as bad as this one and it's never got him dropped before.

I'm not normally a whipping-boy thrasher, but, in the 2.5 quarters I had the pleasure of stomaching last night, Mackay did play very badly, significantly worse than any of his other games this year. His tackling has been much more respectable this year, but last night he shirked plenty. In addition, he gave nothing with the ball. If the selectors have been waiting for a "droppable" game from him, then this was it. If they are going to average his performance over the year, then he will be safe.

I don't need to, none of the named players ever do anything other than what I've stated, if you're talking outside of that group then yes there is a couple that are sometimes are a bit reluctant to put their body on the line.
Its not just putting body on the line. It's making the extra yard to impact a contest, it's not taking short steps when someones coming the other way, it's accepting body contact and staying over the ball in close. Lots of little things that influence how a team competes in close. Most of it is in the head, and come down to desire.
