What could Thommo offer than Greenwood couldn't, but more?

Like I said age may have caught up with Thommo but Greenwood won't show the ability that Thommo has had in his left nut

That's not a go at Greenwood Thommo is in top 10 crows of all time and we know Greenwood won't get close to tgat

Ricky Ponting would be handy for Australia... if he was still capable of playing at top level & he had more ability than all Australia's current batting line-up...

Thommo's lack of pace and accountability in two way running are the main factors....we already have enough mids not doing that over the past two weeks. As someone has mentioned we gave Lyons away for some beans because he couldn't run both ways. Thommo isn't the answer, getting our mids we have in the side to actually grow some heart and work hard. Brisbane won't be a pushover if we keep dishing up the effort we did last week.

Yeah, but this in the here and now, the AFL's not "back to future"
It's Greenwood's time in the here and now.

100% agree, the problem isn't skill or personnel, the problem is getting the current players to get their heads out of their a***s and play desperate footy. The lack of desperation when attempting to tackle or win the ball was embarrassing and really obvious to see when watching. The complete opposite of previous weeks

No he wouldn't, his opponents would be already out of the contest, ball in hand, by the time he gets in a position to outmuscle

You are totally forgetting how soft arse we were do we have any players that have some grunt maybe they will try and develop Hampton into that role it might take a few course of juice to give him some size and maybe aggression

If Dayne Beams doesn't come up surely we'll take a leaf out of the Roos and Dees playbook and put a hard tag on Zorko because sure as hell the Lions will tag Rory. Zorko is way more damaging than Rockliff who's out with a shoulder.

Only thing I can say regarding thommo is that when he was a regular we had a team full of inside slow mids which made him look even slower. Things have changed a bit since then as in we have a team full of outside types. Milera, Atkins, smith, Cameron, McKay, Hampton etc. I personally wouldn't pick thommo in the team but I reckon it would be interesting to see how the midfield would go with him in their combined with the outside players.

When you reward incompetent performances with guaranteed selection, of course you will get players who will only put in on their own terms. The club are to blame for creating that culture.

Brisbane's midfield is very different to the Dees with Rockliff out, not nearly as much size and brute strength of the Petracca, Viney, Oliver, Jones type but two very skilled and classy mids in Beams and Zorko supported by Jake Barrett and youngsters Ben Keays and Jarrod Berry.

Lets be honest if we struggle in anyway when Brisbane are missing Rockliff and Beanes things are worse than we all thought

Yep, part of me wanted to play a stronger opposition this week. Don't want none of this false sense of security by beating up on a young inexperienced side. The players might start thinking they're rock stars again

The logic would be we are getting smashed and being out muscled can't see any kid helping us in that area
That's because we've been playing like a bunch of pussies, Not switched on and generally not trying.
If we front up with the correct attitude we'll look like a different team, I think.

How does having slow midfielders around you make you look slow? Shouldnt it be the other way around?
