Congratulations to our 2 debutants in Hugh Greenwood and Jordan Gallucci. Really pleased to see them both in. Disappointed for Troy Menzel. That must have been the knock he got in the 1st quarter

Happy to see Mackay and JJ both omitted and not excused. Hopefully there is a message also sent with the omission. Could there have been 1 or 2 more? Sure but its a start.

Welcome back Jake Lever. Really positive feeling again

His first six weeks were impressive. Very average last two games. Up to him now whether he has a future.

Pardon the intrusion

But the midfield got caned the last 2 games, every key back and forward has looked average the last 2 weeks

Otten has been very impressive imo

I think its a huge positive that a previous "untouchable" in Jenkins was dropped ahead of him

I'd also prefer to see Hartigan dropped ahead of Otten on current form

Has looked about as dependable as a David Mackay tackle in all bar the Port game by my eye

If you're happy with the club's handling of Harrison Wigg fine....I'm not.

In my opinion he has at least shown enough at SANFL level to be worthy of a crack at AFL in place of several that have or were at different times largely under performing.

I always prefer guys get a chance. But we have seen that his elite kicking is hindered by slow thinking and poor decision making

he should have been used to rest or replace Thommo last year, around the Brisbane and Essendon games.

the club ****ing up that selection has done Wigg's career no favours. Hasn't looked as strong as he did then since IMO.

As much as it pains me to write this since I like Thompson and what he's done over his whole career for us, I can't express just how relieved I am that he isn't back. I was fearful that we'd do the same thing Sanderson did when our defense was beaten by Fremantle's forward line pressure years ago, where he brought Reilly straight back from the SANFL because his "experience" was seen as an answer to our lack of composure in that sector. Not only did it highlight that Sanderson couldn't see that Reilly was a player who lacked composure, it also showed a lack of courage to back in the younger players and the confidence in his own ability as a coach to rectify the problem himself. A much better result this time around.

I'm not sure I could keep playing motivated if I was in his place. I'd be disheartened and going through the motions.

I'm enthused to see what Greenwood and Galluci can do, but I'm less impressed with the outs, they've taken the easy road rather than the correct one.
What the hell are you talking about ,the first time in a long long time the club has made hard selection changes with a long term player and key forward we spent big money on being dropped and you make that statement .

Unbelievable

Dogs aren't playing badly and they've dropped four players including prominent players like Libba. Goes to show how conservative we're at selection.
Yeah, but that has little to do with under performing apart from Libba, the inclusions are all best 22 when fit. And it also helps when Mitch Wallis has been ripping it up in the VFL after recovering from his broken leg of last season

Your points are constructive
The coaching panel did what they had to do

Looks like we really did strap Mackay to a rocket and point it at the sun

Better there than in the AFL
Dear to CHB/Defence where we've been getting towelled in the SANFL all year through the lack of a tall defender...who knows he may even be half good at that because he's not going to get retained on the AFL list as a Forward I wouldn't think, same applies to Hunter IMO.

Hit the nail on the head here, I might be bias considering the closeness I've followed Harrison's footballing career but if you want the blueprint of how to not turn a young draftee into an AFL standard player follow the steps the football club have taken with Harrison's development whether that be with his playing style, continuity, physical build or the mixed messages he has gotten from the coaching group.

David Gallagher was virtually run out of town wasn't he. His skills were possibly some of the worst the crows have ever drafted.
Post Connell.

We have:

1. Alan Bartlett
2. Darren Smith
3. Matthew Liptak
4. Matt Connell
5. Chad Rintoul
6. David Gallagher
7. Luke Jericho
8. Brent Reilly
9. Nathan van Berlo
10. David Mackay

Late-career Greg Anderson copped a bit. Also late Simon Tregenza. And early Nathan Bock.

Glad for the two debutantes and omissions.

Its getting near the time where O'Brien has to start getting minutes if Sauce is to be more than Div 2 level come finals time.

Also we need to look at Beech as well.

Good to see Hampton still in, without his pressure we'd get slaughered even worse!

Like others have said, need to look at wigg sometime this year too.

Here's what Brett Burton had to say on their Facebook live stream.

Jenkins "hasn't played to the level we expect of him". Said he is obviously in our best 22.
David Mackay "similar". "Played every game this year". "Form dropped off a little". Look forward to him regaining form. No mention of best 22 status.
Menzel. Should be available next week

He said they coaches were very happy with Gallucci's pressure on the ball at SANFL level.

Interesting that Birdman referred to JJ as best 22 however not DMac
