I've been very, very critical of Fyfe's ability since Covid. He's definitely 40% of the player he was in 19. But he looked good and composed tonight. Has definitely earned a bigger rotation next week against an experienced, premiership midfield.

NOD has strung together some very unconvincing games, problem is I'm not sure Sharp makes us better, it'll be borderline I reckon.

I hope Wagner is fit enough to slot back in.
Johnson for Ras eventually you'd expect, but Ras was pretty decent today.

Simpson/Wagner for Banners feels about right. I'd like Walker, but dropping Worner off the back of a bad game after he was one of our best against Calrton feels a bit reactive.

Dudley wasn't great, but who are we bringing in for him? Barring the yips in the second, the forward line - again - functioned pretty effectively.

Wtf are we going to do when we have all of Young, Fyfe, Johnson, Erasmus and JOM all fit, I can see Johno coming in for Erasmus which would be very harsh and not what I want to see, but we need that senior exp and Body of JOM whether we all like it or not.

Maybe JOM perma wing if Drizz gets a spell at WAFL.

would be extremely ballsy to bring Simpson in off 2 WAFL games against the Lions' dangerous smalls in what is going to be a huge game. JL is generally conservative but every now and then he does something mildly surprising with selection; hopefully that's the case next round.

There's no hiding for JL now with this performance. He's going to have to overcome his conservatism and bring in players off limited game time.

Wagner, Young and Johnson are easy choices once they're available - but we need the classy ball use of Simpson off half-back or the pace of Walker. I tend to think we pull the plug and unleash Simpson - only played a couple of games but he's worth the risk.

Dudley has had a good first year but he is done, Noddy hasn't been the hard-running wing revelation we'd hoped and Banfield is just bog average. All 3 need to go.

To be fair NOD has been very hard running and gutsy. He was big v Collingwood. He wanted to make a point of his running. Just his disposal and decision making lately is gah.
He needs to learn how to not be unco, if that makes sense. He’s very gangly.

Wagner is a must. He’s crucial.

I agree with Simpson. I mean we’re playing Banfield down back ffs. That’s already a risk. Simpson has more run and kicking as his weapon. Risk for a risk .

Can't understand why so many calls to bring Simpson in at this point of the season when he is legitimately unproven at the level. I have absolutely no trust that he can handle any of the heat we have faced in the past 2 months and imo it's too late to test that now. We need people coming in we can trust to perform roles. Banners had some mistakes tonight but he has been pretty consistent down back just doing his role. Role players like that make a team not just the flashy players we all want.

I reckon Banners, noddy, Dudley, and Erasmus might be the unlucky ones.
