Seems like he is damn if you do and damn if you don't

In the Hawks game he didn't get the ball out of bounds and was crucified. Umps are red hot on deliberate.

He tries to tap it clear, with two port players hanging off him in the port game and still gets crucified. Maybe someone should also jumped in to try to lock it in, or was he better tapping inside rather than boundary lol

If you pick the ball up, you either get tackled straight away or you get away a kick or handball.

If you can't navigate these scenarios, then you are better of getting replaced by someone who can.

Yeh sure thing. Means no player ever gets caught htb lol

In that instance he didn't pick up the ball knowing he'd be tackled but played it in front of him before tapping it out

Simpson was really exciting, the challenge is can he get to that level after a long term injury quickly and can he hold up when the pressure is ramped right up.

If the answer to the first is yes then you probably take the risk, but if there's doubts on it then I can understand how he may not get back in the team this year.

Doesn't mean he isn't a great prospect, and he should be training at half back across the pre-season.
I think he's run out of time baring injury to force his way back in, unless we have more who completely fold in the next 2 weeks like Worner.

Banners & Nod are on thin ice already but we have Young and Wags to come back. I remember what Walker's final series did around here and I could see the same thing happening to Simpson if he is thrusted into finals with little prep. I think I would rather stick with Banners in front of Simpson as at least his skin is thick and an embarrassing few moments in some big finals will not affect him next season.

What ever happens, I think they just need to leave Fyfe as sub. That's the only way he's going to get through the next 6 weeks and he has massive impact in the last quarter so it works. I'm sure he can play a full game if we get an injury but I wouldn't risk it unless forced.

Every team every week is scratching their head trying to figure out how to best utilise the sub role. We are lucky in that we’ve cracked the code. Fyfe as super sub is one of our points of difference and could prove crucial to our success chances.

Brisbane bringing in a bit of height to the backline and a 2nd ruck. I recon the 2 ruck combo is starting to have an impact on other teams selection, the best thing is that their 2nd ruck is usually limited in either the ruck or around the ground while our 2nd ruck is a gun unicorn.

Could be a factor in running over the top of team too.

Banfield still in. Seriously, how many defensive and offensive errors can he get away with?

Absolutely, as all the armchair experts (Korn) were loud in their proclamations.
Not so loud now

Like tapping the ball directly to the boundary, 20ms out from goal?
More like pinpoint kick to Young on the 45 who drills it to Jackson for the goal that puts Fremantle in front of Collingwood. That is the difference between what did happen and what might happen.

Like the look of the umpiring panel. Should be giving it their best shot so close to finals. But will their best shot be good enough? They will be setting the tone for the weekend so shouldn’t see so many rediculous 50m penalties and insufficient intent penalties handed out. Bayley is still in so they will be sorely tempted.
