If we are looking for some stuff to look forward to; give guys like Johnstone and Maynard a chance over the like of White, Wagner and even Trengove (yes, i went there, i shot bambi, he's done at AFL level guys).

Dont bother risking the likes of Garlett and Watts if they arent 100%. Id much rather give them another week on the sidelines and play the kids. Losing the match and them aggravating an injury would be hard to swallow.

Positive: You can get $3 about Carlton winning next week with some bookies right now. Happy to throw $50 on the Blues with our current IL. Probably start close to $1.90 by the time our team is released next week.

If we somehow still win, who cares about $50? If we lose, you have an extra $100 to console yourself with. #winwin

Happy to write next week off. Just have to jag a game on the way home that no one expects us to win to make up for it. Easy done.

If we somehow win next week with this injury list ill be over the moon.

Same here.

Blues are currently 2.81, bank on Adelaide beating them easily today and the odds should go out a little more.

Didn't see this lol, great minds think alike.

i must have just beat the price drop. I put $50 on @ $3 on Crownbet, still @ $2.95 there compared to sportsbet $2.81

I have a small multi of Swans/Dogs/Essendon that I was going to put the winnings of on Carlton, but Dogs currently playing like shit

Multi's are impossible this year man. Anything more than a double and the bookies are laughing all the way to the bank. Im only betting head to heads for the rest of the year. Its hard enough to pick one winner let alone two or three of them on the one ticket.

We struggled to score with a full forward line last time we met Carlton. There defence is going to own us.

Also on review everyone seems to think we'd have done better with Watts, Garltett and Hogan in our side last night. i disagree, our midfield could not get is past half way for most of the night, having a full forward line would not have mattered at all the swans never let us go forward

Yeah, I'm chucking money on Carlton right now.

Alright here's the 4-1-1 folks

Say some Carlton midfield is dissing your on-ballers give em' some of these:

Hard on-ball Unit: Nope I'm not talking some sort of Neal-Bullen, Kennedy-Harris onball unit that Carlton will eat up I mean some big bodies to go with Gibbs n Cripps etc.

This would have been the perfect match for Tyson to really get another crack at doing the clearance stuff that he was so good at in 2014 but it looks like he may miss too with a knee complaint.

Play Petracca in the guts for a vast majority of the match. Yes we lose a powerful target and some pressure up forward, but Trac is a bull that just doesn't lose his feet and can just peel off from contests. I would also like to see Trengove play. He may be slow but he's a big body and in the clearances is probably the one area we can afford to have a turtle. If not him, then I'd even be open to playing Maynard.

We need another key forward alongside Tom McDonald. If Hogan is good he's in. If not, play the Weed. I have enough confidence in OMac to hold his own down back now. Wouldn't be opposed to Spencer either given Gawn looks a little underdone and Kreuzer is on fire at the moment.

One or both of Wagner and White should go. I'd love both, ideally we'll be lucky if Goody drops one so we'll say White for arguments sake. Return Hunt to the half-back. Stretch also looked ordinary but is probably lucky he wasn't alone and we don't have too many other options at the moment. Pedo needs a big game.

If Garlett is even 80% play him. If not, BenKen or blood Johnstone.

B: N Jetta, O-Mac, M Hibberd

HB: J Hunt, S Frost, J Lewis

C: B Stretch, C Petracca, ANB

HF: M Hannan, T-Mac, J Harmes

F: JKH, Hogan/Weideman, J Garlett/B Kennedy

R: M Gawn C. Oliver J. Trengove

INT: J Melksham, B Vince, C Pedersen, J Wagner (-_-)

OUTS: Bugg (susp), Viney (inj), Tyson (inj), White (omit)
INS: Garlett (or BenKen), Hogan (or Weed), JKH, Trengove

If Joel Smith comes back on fire in the VFL then I wouldn't even be opposed to him coming in for Wagner.
I don't mind that line up. I've seen better but I've seen worse too.

Looking forward to seeing Trenners play again.

I don't think Weids is ready for AFL yet, but Hogan coming back in should give us some options with TMac & Pedo.

JKH can't play forward, but might give us some run in the midfield and help transition the ball from defence.

Maybe I'm still on a high after the WC game, but I still believe we can beat Carlton. We'll certainly get a lot of confidence out of it if we do.

Casey went down by 11 goals.

Looks like Maynard got plenty of ball again with 32 in a losing side. Wonder whether he's in line for a debut playing inside mid.

Seems like Kennedy, JKH and Kent were all decent. Trenners sub 20 :(

Is it time to panic?

For me this season is still the springboard for winning a grand final in the next couple of years. Would be great to get into the finals and win 1 game at least. But this year (for me) is about getting the list right.

Carlton is a big danger game, and I would think Melbourne are 50/50 to win it. They have been playing a super brand of footy these last couple of weeks.

Sure things for in's assuming they are fit would be Garlett, Watts and Hogan of course.

Then bring in some of the players that are on the fringe still, unless they have already blown their chances.
  • Trengrove
  • Kent
  • Kennedy
  • Kennedy-Harris
Agree with what you said except the way Carlton played against Richmond. If Carlton just pass the ball around their backline we might have a chance.

Not sure who's available to play not sure if all of trengove and kkk get in. Actually if Tyson is out that very much may happen.

I know we have a lot of injures but I'm not sure we're that desperate yet.

Brett Anderson on the Dees podcast said last week Maynard was very close to making his debut. Another big game today may mean he's given a shot.

Interesting people think Watts is close to a return, didnt even train this week
Because of a Friday game we only trained twice this week. Watts trained Monday, not Wednesday. Goody said in his presser that he's a chance as did Watts later last night on channel 10

What was Watts doing on channel 10? is he looking to buy the joint?

IN: Hogan, Garlett, Maynard
OUT: White, Bugg, Viney

Watts if fit for Pederson
Tyson if not fit for Kennedy

Wagner, Stretch survive because of injuries

Out: Viney, White, Wagner, Tyson, Bugg
In: Kennedy, Trengove, Kent, Maynard, Garlett

I can't believe some people are keeping Wagner in the team. He was truly shitful sadly...
