Really hope we don't put Hogan in the VFL.
I love the VFL and wish i could attend games, but the major problem with mixing AFL players with VFL players, is there is far to many part time heros that love the idea of claiming an AFL listed player as a scalp.

I know Brayshaw has been unlucky as well, but i'd argue he is some of this point represented. Think for a moment, do you ever recall brayshaw being concussed at AFL level?

Sorry to derail from your point BG32, had to rant that out. Agree though, i'd rather Hogan come straight back in. Even if he is underdone for us it's still better than nothing

The way I see it, Hogan is neither Phar Lap nor a Ferrari. He's a developing young talent, but not even as developed as Petracca or Oliver. Hasn't really dominated a whole game yet -although he has played some very solid matches. He comes in because we have an injury depleted list. If we had a full list I'd let him come back through the Two's for a couple of weeks to get some touch. As it stands though, we bring him back.

This. ^

We are still a good chance of winning, putting my money on Carlton @ $3 doesnt mean i think we will lose, it means i thought Carlton are well over the odds. I dont bet with my heart, i bet with my head. Blues into $2.30 now the last time i checked btw. #valuetown
Carlton have made a lot of money for people placing bets on them at the line... I don't think it will change.

We will give you a run for your money but eventually suffer another "brave" loss.

We have to learn how to win games

Doubt we get belted, Carlton are averaging 72ppg.

If we're going to win we need big games from Hogan and the leadership group. Lewis and Vince I'm looking at you two this week.
I think you'll win and don't think Hogan will have a hand in it.

Might sound like fantasy, but the only thing I seem confident about these days is that Jones will beat his opponent. If that is Hogan, he will beat him.

It just means that Jeffy will kick 6 goals and after surrendering the lead in the last quarter, Melbourne settle and kick the last two goals to win by 9 points.

Maynard and Smith massive chances to get the call up this week IMO.

Corey Maynard: Corey had 32 disposals, 16 tackles and eight clearances. I thought he was outstanding on the weekend. He was one of a few players that really competed and played the way that we need our players to be playing. Corey continues to show good improvement and he had a strong willingness to compete. I thought he was a standout.

Joel Smith: Joel had 21 disposals, eight marks, four tackles and five rebounds. He returned to football after 13 weeks off. I thought he showed some really positive signs. He looked lively, showed a lot of intensity and took us forward with the ball. Although a little rusty in some areas, it was an otherwise good return by Joel.

Kennedy, JKH and Kent sound close too:

Ben Kennedy: Ben had 30 disposals, including 14 contested, plus 12 tackles. He also had five clearances. Benny continues to play well at VFL level. His intensity around the ball and contest has been a highlight. We just need to get some more value with some of his possessions. He needs to be more damaging when he gets the ball.

Jay Kennedy-Harris: Jay had 25 disposals, including 15 contested possessions, plus eight tackles and kicked one goal. The opposition put a lot of work into him and he struggled in the early part of the game, but he worked through it. We’ve challenged him to get more value from his possessions – he was a little rushed at times – so we want him to work on his composure, his inside 50 finishing and goalkicking.

Dean Kent: Dean had 27 disposals, including 14 contested possessions, five tackles and seven clearances. He also kicked 1.1. Dean’s had a pretty good three or four weeks at VFL level. I felt his game on the weekend, particularly around the ball and his ability to win critical contest, was good. He hasn’t been able to hit the scoreboard as much as we’d like in recent weeks, but he’s certainly a player that we feel is ready to go at AFL level.

I'd be giving Kent the nod, though not before reading the riot act. He's better than the crap he was dishing up earlier this year. We need his best right now.

And we've just named Smith the nominated rookie, so he's eligible for the Seniors again.

I mean, he kicked seven vs the Saints.

Will be interesting to see which players get the biggest boost in midfield time. As mentioned by others, Lewis and Vince you'd think. Maybe Petracca too. Going to be an interesting battle up against a pretty good midfield.
