Interesting whether Weid or Tmac will give Max a chop out in the ruck, I don't really see Weid as a ruck at all though and should really be playing as a permanent forward, looking forward to seeing him play though, deserves his chance.

Imagine, TMac goes into other ruck, Weid kicks 6 Ben Brown goes goaless.

Selection then....oh boy. 🤦
Imagine TMac goes into the ruck has 15 touches, 15 hitouts kicks 2 goals and Weid & Brown kick 5 each

selection then.....wowee

HF: Luke Jackson - Tom McDonald - Mitch Brown
F: Sam Weideman - Ben Brown - Bayley Fritsch

Hope Weid continues the good synergy he had working with Brown in the VFL.
Be interesting to see who does the ruck work when Max is resting/rotating.

OPTIMISTIC VIEW: If Jackson had to get injured (and this is Melbourne in an 8-0 season so he probably did) this is about the best scenario. 2 weeks off to freshen up with an injury that doesn't prevent you staying fit, while we actually get the chance to look at the Weideman/Brown combination that presumably our list management team intended to be Plan A for the year.

You'd imagine Gawn rucks all day and takes as many centre bounces as possible and then sits behind the ball, the three tall forwards take the ruck in the front half.

Big risk of the forward line being too tall so will be looking for Weid and TMac to work up the wings to make sure we've got good connection. Fritsch, Pickett and Spargo buzzing around Brown in the 50.

REALITY: Gawn, Tmac, Weid, Brown, Fritsch and Pickett all flying for the same marks 20m out from goal. We lose the next 2 games and Weid spends the rest of the year in the 2s and gets traded to Hawthorn for pick 45.

Pickett is slowly learning to choose more wisely when to fly for pack marks, which is important. Don’t want to coach it out of him entirely but have noticed he’s shown more discretion as time has worn on and it’s allowed him to be more involved and thus dangerous in the contest

Spoiled Brown last week in the fourth quarter IIRC when he was in perfect position to mark it. :(

He knows that Brown makes our forward line structure worse and so he was pre-emptively cutting it off. 4D chess from Kossie
