Mate you're obviously a guru, why not just apply for a job on the coaching panel lol....
No, but you're advocating bringing in 2 players with a few games experience between them and also Will Hayes on top... doesn't take a "guru" to know that's bonkers. How arrogant is that also going to look?

We'd get spanked

Seems we have gone back to our old ways

Please add a second tall to the backline

A second ruckman

And some leg speed to the back and front

Thank you
this isnt too fair, our backline already has 2 talls, our second ruck was injured the game before, and while we have leg speed its not really doing much for us because many of the players are out injured or are out of form

Over the years we’ve commented on how players are usually a bit subdued coming back from concussion.

Who can we bring in / how can we structure up to ensure we don’t get exposed if English is down on form?

Could JUH up forward free English to roam a bit more and drop behind the ball to match up on De Koning?

If we bring in Marra, do we drop him if he has a stinker, or do we persist in the face of the criticism he and Bevo will cop? (Hoping he goes ok of course)

I take your point however
I can only see one tall in the backline, Keath
Cordy at 193 is not tall enough to play on players like Lynch
English was not replaced by a ruckman, should be corrected this week
Bolton was far to quick for anything we had
We must have someone with leg speed not injured as the backline badly needs speed
Anyhow its a selection thread, that's what I would do

do Koning comes in this week. He's quality and we don't have a decent second KPD to take him
Where'd you hear that?
Last I checked he's only played one VFL game coming back from stress fractures in the back.
No guarantee this week.

I don’t think he could have a real stinker. He may not touch it or kick goals but there are two certainties. We will get the ball inside 50 often and Marra will fly for Mark’s and harass. He is competitive and combative. If he is those two things it will help the team win and he will be viewed positively. I could never see him being totally ineffective like Schache.

We should really give them a touch up at Marvel. Other than Mckay they dont have much up forward and they have been leaking goals left right and centre. If we are a premiership contender we should dispatch them by 6-10 goals
"Other than McKay".
McKay has had 10+ shots on goal in each of his last two games at Marvel and kicked 7 and 6 goals respectively.
Expecting 5 goals minimum from him.
Hopefully Silvagni will be back as well.

And he'll have the benefit of not having two defenders on him. If he does have two defenders on him, Naughton and Bruce can run rampant.

Big gap between McKay and anyone else for total shots at goal this year for Carlton...

46 - McKay (56.5%)
15 - Betts (33.3%)
15 - Gibbons (40.0%)

31 more shots than any other player, while the top 3 for the Dogs...

36 - Naughton (44.4%)
31 - Bruce (64.5%)
17 - English (52.9%)

True but Carlton hasn't had a genuine 2nd tall forward option to available this year for more than 2 games.
Hopefully DeKonig or jsos will make a change.
Casboult has unfortunately been a waste of space this yr.

What's surprising to me is that despite the really good numbers the Carlton KPD's are putting up (in terms of contested one on one losses - all of Weitering, Jones and Parks are under 20%), is that they are continually scored against heavily. Either Carlton get routinely destroyed by small forwards or the system defence of covering leading lanes for teammates is incredibly poor.

If it's the latter then the system has major problems (just like we had under McCartney in 2012-2014).
