Davey and Picket obviously out, but the news is that Brown is also injured and came off in the last quarter against the Dogs with a calf injury. Assuming this is correct I'd like the following changes

Out: Davey, Pickett, Brown
Ins:
Green - goes without saying
Miller - the time is now. He's still in our best 22. We're only playing Carlton lets see if he can find some form
Dunn - another forward option. We need it with the loss of Davey and Pickett

Forget Motlop he's shown no form at Sandy. Bell will probably be looked at.

In other news Moloney only played ten minutes for Sandy res. and came off supposedly still injured. I'm convinced his season is finished. But Bizzell is back and if he strings some good games together + gains match fitness he'll definitely come under consideration come finals

B. Whelan Carroll Holland
HB. Ward Rivers Bartram
C. Johnstone McLean Bate
HF. Green Dunn Sylvia
F. Robertson Neitz Yze
R. White McDonald Bruce

Int. Godfrey, Jamar, C.Johnson, Jones

Ins. Dunn, Green, C.Johnson
Outs. Flash/Pickett/Brown

Nathan Brown wasnt too bad i thought, needs game time.

EDIT - who said anything about the calf injury?, i hadnt heard anything.

I thought Browny was great for us. 20 possessions first game back after a long injury break.

In the last 2 mins on the TV footy telecast the boundary bloke said Nath had just come off with a calf problem. In the rooms after the game I caught sight of him with an ice pack on his calf area so hopefully just a knock.

I definitely saw Brown Dog walking the boundary with ice taped to his calf after the final siren.

Is Danny Seow a chance to resume against the Blues?

Bring back Miller before Dunn imo. Miller at his best at CHF is better than Dunns best at CHF, for this year anyway.

Pickett, Davey out
Miller, Green in. If Brown is out, then bring in CJ or Bell

CJ, Miller and Green in.

Wouldn't be suprised to see Motlop in, Danners was talking it up.

miller kicked 3 goals and was apparently very good playing for sandy reserves because the seniors had a bye. imo he shouldnt come back in yet. i think he needs some serious domination in the sandy seniors before he comes back. but hes one of danihers favourites and with dunn out last game miller might get brought back in against a lower side. it would still be very unfortunate for dunn though as i dont think both will fit into the team. with pickett and davey out i think we should bring in read to cover the toughness of pickett and then maybe johnson or motlop to play smaller up forward. but i think we will bring a key position back in as we only played small last week due to dunn being a late withdrawal and playing the bulldogs.

most likely it'll be
In: Dunn, Green
Out: Davey, Pickett
then johnson or even wheatley for brown if need be.

btw anyone know why dunn was a late withdrawal?? because usually it has to be some sort of injury for a late change.

This is how i see things this week.
-The fact that Miller played in the sandy 2's last week shows that ND wants him back in / in form asap. He needs to get some AFL games under his belt before the finals, cos there is no doubt we need him up forward and firing to go deep into september. This would be the perfect week for him to slot back into the side. Whitnall will be a tough opponent for him although a good one as whitnall is a positive, attacking defender which will allow miller the chance to get plenty of the prune.
-Dunn had the flu last week and deserves to come straight back into the side. I agree that in our best team there is only room for one of miller and dunn who has been exceptional. Millers form when he comes back in will largely determine this. Although atm the moment dunn deserves his spot ahead of miller.
-With the huge loss of flash and choppy it presents an opportunity for motlop to work his was back into the team. ND mentioned his name as a likely replacement straight after the game. His form has been solid at sandy without setting the world on fire, although his a good player and you must remember that its hard work trying to snatch a spot in the dees forward line atm. Last year he came back into the side around this time of year and did some good things mainly against the crows and the bombers (at CHF). He had a good pre-season and played round 1 against carlton this year, so he deserves the chance, but his inclusion will probably come down to team balance and whether miller gets a game.
-Doggie Brown wasnt mentioned in the dees injury list in the paper today so it looks as though his calf is fine. If he doesnt play Cj will be his likely replacement.
-One of Godfrey/Read has to be part of the dees line-up going into september. We have a very attacking midfield and Godfrey/Read provide that defensive edge that we require to shut down a judd/Goodwin. In saying that Jmac shuts down blokes and beats them winning his own ball, Brucey can do anything and barty has done jobs on smaller Midfielders like Peter Bell. What are everyones thoughts???? Do we need them in september or will they be left wanting in the heat of finals action?

Bring back in Warnock, he is playing well with Sandy and needs another go to prove homself before the finals

Dunn withdrew because of the Bulldogs height issues. With Neita, Jeffery, Russian, Dutchy, Rivers and Carroll all in the side, there really wasn't a need for another tall when playing against those speedy short people! Would love to see Miller back in, he is sooooooo due for it

Out: Davey Pickett (injured), Brown
In: Motlop, Green, Dunn

Can't leave out Lynden, naturally talented, unlike Miller.
Motlop because we need another brudda in the team.
Green is back.

Brown was unlucky, Wheately maybe instead.
Can't see Godders or Jones being dropped.
Miller unlucky
CJ and Bell needed to cement their spots ala Wardy.

Tough week at the selection table.

Should we feel any need to be worried about a repeat of round 1? Or will that just be extra incentive for the boys to completely demoralize the Blues this week bigtime?

Me thinks
In: Green, Motlop
Out: Davey, Pickett

I'd really like to see Miller come back in though, I think he's performed fairly well at Sandy, atleast enough to warrant a spot in the team against the bottom of the table team. He could be very valuable come finals time

Too bad, Thrawn. :p Interesting week... I hope that the changes are like this...

Out: Davey, Pickett,
In: Green, Dunn

And possibly Holland out for Ferguson. :thumbsu:

As much as we love to bag the bloke, Holland hasn't really put a foot wrong since coming back into the side and could provide handy backup for Carroll against Fev, assuming ND doesn't give him the job straight up, a la gehrig.

Err, he is

Thought he was suspended?

Ah well. He'll run riot as he always does against us. Fevola may be the most dangerous FF atm, but I feel his form has tapered off a bit ever since his game vs the Kangas.

Carroll would get the job done if he can stop him from kicking over 4. I just have a feeling he will explode in one of these remaining games and kick 10, might be this one.

Nah he had a 1 week suspension which was the Bulldogs game. He will be back this week.

Yeah, that's true, but I do want to see Fergy back in. :thumbsu: Plus, every time Dutchy gets the ball I get nervous.
