IN: Chapman, Rooke, Ottens (if fit)
OUT: Varcoe, Gamble, West

We needed Rooke's grunt last night, while the other two are automatic inclusions. I dont no if Otto will play VFL etc first though. I hope he does.

rooke should be in for ling, ling is playing injured
johnson should be given a few weeks off, hips are like his grans at the moment

Blake was solid last night and does not deserve to be dropped. Blake and Ottens are the ruckman we will play finals with and we should make sure they are both match fit and working well together for when it counts.

Don't know why rooke was dropped... i like his toughness at the ball... & gamble is a good player... just needs a lil more time imo... our bench is a hard one cos really we have a single place in the side for someone where there's proble 4 or so good players fighting for... just need to find that right fit

We need to make a few changes but we shouldn't go crazy on the back of one loss. The club's policy has been to act the same way whether we win or lose. I don't think we should be too rash.

Ottens should play VFL first. I'm happy to give Westy another chance this week and Mumford really needs to play some full games in the VFL to stay sharp.

Rooke should definately come back into the side to replace Mackie. While Rooke can look ordinary at times he sets the example with his physicality. The more games he plays the better he'll get. Mackie has got the look of a passenger at the moment.

Chappy will hopefully come back in for Varcoe.

Mackie will not be dropped. Sure he is a bit of a passenger when the team is down, but not every player can drive the team. It was up to Bartel, Ablett, Corey and Kelly to kick start the engine room last night and it didn't happen.

Ablett was fantastic and Corey had his moments but too many integral players just crumbled under pressure.

Thumbs up to Selwood who although didn't star by any means, did have 14 contested possessions (the most on the ground) which indicates he was one of the hardest at the ball.

and from left field, depending on how they go in the VFL tomorrow
Djerrkura or Davenport for Mackie

To be fair to Mackie, he was thrown on to Swan when Ling couldn't hold him (injury) and was consequently beaten by a midfielder with greater indurance and speed.

Blake was solid last night and does not deserve to be dropped.

forest is just trolling,as usual

Ottens for West [assuming Ottens does play]
Chappy for Varcoe [assuming Chappy is fit]
Rooke for Ling [Lingy not fit]

and from left field, depending on how they go in the VFL tomorrow
Djerrkura or Davenport for Mackie

Otto for West, Blake will ruck whilst Otto will probably play second string for 2 weeks rather than the vfl...

I don't know who is injured, but we need to reconsider playing anyone that is carrying an injury... Ling and Johnson spring to mind, I don't know if it's the injuries or if they both just had shocking nights?

I don't think we'll make major changes this week though to be honest, so something along the lines of-

Out- West, Varcoe, (insert injured player here)
In- Otto, Chapman, Rooke

and from left field, depending on how they go in the VFL tomorrow
Djerrkura or Davenport for Mackie

Have you seen Djerrkura last few VFL games? He hardly touches the ball, has had a long break with injury needs another month in the VFL i think to get back some touch. Varcoe is a mile ahead of him at the moment.

Spot on. Blake and Ottens are clearly our best rucking duo.

We sure miss Ottens though. No need to rush him back for the Carlton game but we need him very soon!

Sorry CF, Blake wasn't solid. He turned it over a number of times, resulting in opposition goals. Tapping it in front of goal straight to an opposition player isn't good either.

I do agree that he is our next best ruckman behind Ottens, but, this maybe an opportunity to give him a rest to get some form.

Ling and SJ prob need a week off due to injury. Johnson in particular didn't have any impact at all, wondering if something is really wrong.

IMO, I'd like to see Rooke back. Perhaps Prismall rotating in for Ling to give the towell a rest. I actually like Mumford, I think in a year or so he'd easily be our third best ruck, possibly second.

Chappy back also, need his heart and passion.

There were two guys last night who had over 50 touches between them, yet i don't remember either laying a single tackle.

They won't be dropped, but i hope they get a good kick up the arse.

Does ones surname start with M and the other E ?

In: Chapman, Rooke, Prismall, Ottens and Mumford

Out: Varcoe, Blake, West, Ling (inj) and SJ (inj)

Depends completely on injuries.

I'd be looking at Ling a bit more closely and consider Rooke. I'd think about West for Ottens, if he's fit. And Chapman for Gamble maybe.

But really I wouldn't want to make more than a couple of changes.

Ok here goes.

It's May. Max Rooke doesn't live for May. He lives for Spetember. He also doesn't live for free-flowing uncontested games at the Dome. He lives for hard crash-bang games at the MCG or SS. There's no point bringing him in for the Carlton match. Save him for the week after for the Kangaroos match. Pick and choose the matches he plays up until the finals. But that said, Ling is not right and must be rested. For the good of the team and our flag chances. So Rooke in for him.

S.Johnson is ditto to Ling. Rest him for 1 or 2 weeks and bring Chapman back. If not Chapman then Prismall.

It's gotten to the stage where Ottens is not going to get any fitter so he just has to come into the side. He can play 2nd string to Blake for a week or two. Omit West.

So,

Ins : Ottens, Chapman (Prismall), Rooke.
Outs : West, S.Johnson, Ling.

l fell there should be a few Changes not just because we got smashed because we need fit group of players latter in the year ling, johnson, for one
maybe bartel and hunt, there prob a few others

rooke should come back in otto, chappy, and now theres afew hurt time to give pris a run l also think now with every player ling tags goes forward,l think rooke should step into a tagging role he can play defense really well to free ling up a bit,
