I dont think Brennan was doing badly in a sense. He just wasnt doing very well either. As a 10 year player he should be providing us with more. But his stats were middle of the road. Difficult to keep him in when guys like Gillbee are kicking 6 in the 2s.

Brennan averaging 12.5 disposals in the last two weeks with 0 goals, not the standard any 10 player should be at. Some are saying he's had an above average couple of weeks, now thats saying something isn't it??

Official changes:

In: McKenzie, Dixon, Gillbee
Out: McQualter, Brennan, Toy (all Omit)

FB: T.Hine, M.Coad, J.Taylor
HB: D.Stanley, M.Warnock, J.Harbrow
C: K.Horsley, G.Ablett, M.Shaw
HF: J.Gillbee, TJ.Lynch, B.Matera
FF: A.Magin, S.May, C.Brown

Fol: C.Dixon, J.Caddy, H.Bennell

Int: P.Flanagan, T.Hickey, M.Weller, T.McKenzie

Flanagan for the sub for mine.

Don't like Hine playing back pocket. Like him much more in the midfield.

Genuinely excited about this game, we may not come away with a win but will be a good game for plenty of players to prove their worth. Hopefully Maisie can have another blinder and the likes of Gilbee and Magin to sneak a few. will be good to see Ablett and Judd to go head to head hopefully. A little worried about our small defensive stocks, hopefully they can stop Carlton's smalls from running rampant. Shutting down the likes of Betts, Yarran and Garlett seems to be the best way to beat carlton and I just dont think Hine and Taylor will be capable.

That's super disappointing for Brennan. He has a year to run on his contract right? You'd have to assume now that given our injuries and the fact he can't even get a game, we would be either looking to trade him (unlikely) or delist him t the end of next year. Man...

Happy to see Dixon back. Good reward for Gilbee too.
At least Carlton's midfield will lack a bit of grunt with Robinson missing.

Pity about Brennan. He plays very well in bursts but then you dont spot him again till another one of his bursts. I still didn't think he was going to be dropped as he played ok last week and i certainly think he is putting in, but things just don't seem to go his way at times.

I think he is at the age where he won't be turn things around to be the player the coaches want him to be ... but he was pretty much like that before we drafted him anyway. They knew what he was like - they drafted him anyway. Bit like Akermanis at the Bulldogs - they drafted a loose cannon & then expressed surprise when he got up to his old tricks.

Bit different, Aka was a loose cannon in the media. Not on the field. Brennan is sporadic, but you have to admit he has been putting in with chases defensively, etc... Could have been anything with his unorthodox and athletic ability.

Just saw a tweet from Gaz. He's having a fishing comp with the boys at his house. Obviously not exactly bed-ridden. :p

Haha I know he lives on the Nerang River ;)

Where did the flu rumour come from?! Obviously not much truth to it

For those without Twitter
media

Should be a perfect night for footy tonight, hope it dosent get too greasy! Come to think of it we have had a pretty good luck with weather all year, cant remember having heavy rain/woeful conditions in any home game?

Actually looking at the map, I assume GC are at the Nerang-Broadbeach Road end with the grandstand above them and the sparce end will be Carlton's. It's just that the seats around the Carlton cheersquad end are sold out and there are heaps around the GC end.

Correct, the opposition is always down the big screen end.

Honestly don't care about the margin (weirdly). Almost like the game last week and what will probably be the same next week. I wish it was like this every week. :D Not getting stressed or anxious at all.

I'll just be looking at individuals objectively and see how the ball moves through the hands of our many 2s players in the side.
