We shouldn't look at the ins and outs as who is better (RHJ or Phillips). Its a balance. The reality is that we had to drop a slow, short player. We have too many. We should have dropped more than one.

I would have preferred Daniel, with Duursma going to HBF. But if we plan to move McKercher or FOS into the middle then I'm okay with this plan.

RHJ is small but he isn't slow.

Agree - I didn't think RHJ showed much last week in the VFL - bit hard to see the logic in bringing him in or what this achieves.

Feels like a low point, and hard to get excited for this one.
A bit like the Dogs Thursday night game was difficult - at least that had the 100 year celebration going on.

Not much said of W.Dawson lining up at CHF.
Didn't look overly impressive when switched there mid games, however, I'm quite looking forward to watching him at least start the game there.
The club have used him there before in the VFL and publicly spoke of CHF as a possible long term position.
Id like to see Dawson and Maley go out and smash a few packs and take a few out with them.

I know Chom didn't have much time to settle in but he looks far more comfortable and effective in defence.
He and Dawson play very different roles down back though.

It is by far the easier position. The fact he can't raise his arms means he is going to struggle forward when you have to be proactive.

He’s looked a lot more comfortable down back in the VFL I think.

He is a defender. He is much better than CHOM. Have a look at how natural his positioning is in defensive contests. He is making mistakes, Rance was horrible in his first couple of years, it takes time to learn how to manage intent and smarts.
