Far more natural as a defender, his intercept marking seems more natural as a defender and his competitiveness is suited to being a defender.

Only thing is, he needs to be a defender who plays from behind. No point playing him in front as he gets lost (Same as Pink and Logue to be fair). He has elite closing speed and long limbs, so he should be encouraged to use those traits as a defender, which means playing from behind or back right shoulder.

this game has the hallmarks of 2022 round 16 where Geelong started rotating defenders in the midfield and still getting clearances.

They need to make a decision on Logue or Pink. We can only have one of them in the side each week (unless one is up forward).

Comben, Dawson & Logue/Pink should be the back 3.

Where we're at it makes no sense to me to be sacrificing valuable game time for Dawson by dropping him to the VFL and playing either Pink or Logue in his place.

He comfortably beat Darcy and Jefferson and only had one goal kicked on him after quarter time last week.

He's doing more than holding his own.

Yeah ... ran out of legs includes that. The younger guys go missing more and lose condition in the last quarter.

They play very well earlier in the game but its hard to fight for the ball against older stronger guys for the whole game.
