Tom Stewart
You just knew when he went down a month ago that he’d return the week they play us

Lol Tom Stewart to have another career game against us.
He only had career games, because our then dumb ass players, and coaches tactically, kept going inside the Cats defensive 50, with long blind floating balls to contests/no one/our mismatched forwards. And we wondered why one of the leagues best interceptors have field days vs us? We kicked it to him time and time again.

We need to go low inside 50, find leads, play smarter, and rely on the ground ball game to be a strength again. If we kick long high balls to Naughton all game, we will struggle to kick goals. Just need to focus on how we have played in recent weeks.

Cerberus is Spangher confirmed.

Bont will push forward if we are forced to blaze long and high inside forward 50.

Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition, if their pressure is good it forces that type of gamestyle. Particularly at the cattery it’s every chance we have lots of high balls inside 50.

This is where our mids need to dominate so we have even numbers. I have all the faith that we get them (and get them well) on the inside. Holmes and Smith need to be distributed the ball from an inside bull. Bont/Libba/Richards and even Kennedy are all better than what Geelong have in that role.

Yeah looks like Baker sub and Bailey Williams back to his wing role with Bramble as the 7th defender down back. Geelong have a number of dangerous small / medium fwds so our backs will have their hands full. I wonder if Bailey almost gets a defensive wing role on Ollie Dempsey who is a very good wingman that will get forward and kick a goal or two also.

That is where Geelong will win the game if they do. If our midfield has a down day, and turn the ball over heaps. The Cats will have their smalls run all over the back of us in numbers. That has been our undoing in our losses so far. I'm not entirely confident as we haven't beaten anyone of note yet, and the loses to good teams, we struggled to control their run, and handle the pressure. Will be a real test to show how far we have come in that regard.

not sure if anyone else has posted this but has anyone noticed theres 3 umps from collingwood game(against us)
that are in tomorrow nights game
Umpires
Nathan Williamson (22), , Andre Gianfagna (27) sorry my bad only 2
Nathan Williamson seemingly hates us. Very poor umpire.

Last year we were being described as the form team of the comp before squandering a chance of top four by losing to a mediocre Adelaide side then getting sent home in week 1 of finals. We had a hot streak in which we beat Carlton, Sydney and Geelong away in consecutive weeks, all were top four at the time we played them.
Yes we were the form team but that loss didn't 'squander' our chance of top four than any other loss did. We lost games earlier in the year, were considered a less than 50% chance of making top four before the Adelaide game (because we needed to win all 3 final games and have results go our way, or win 2 and have extremely unlikely other results go our way), and that loss could have either come against Adelaide, North or GWS just due to dumb luck or variance or whatever.

I don't see how the loss could have cost us top 4 when were were not likely to finish top 4 heading into that game anyway.

We are better off kicking it along the ground than straight to Stewart especially with the form Naughton is in.

If Carlton’s midfield vs Geelong was anything to go by, we should be fine in there if we play anywhere near our best. Our worry is if everyone decides to spud it up and let Atkins got ten clearances.

Dunkley grills Treloar about what the boys at the club have been saying about Baz especially about him missing main training this week. Starts around the 36:50 mark 🤣

I rank him on a par with Sam McClure for likeability and accuracy.
I think they must be related.
