Whilst it may feel like the right thing to emotionally “play the kids”, at the end of the day, if we beat 11th placed Geelong, and 5th placed Carlton beat 8th placed GWS, we play finals. So we have to throw everything at it.

IN: Liberatore, Johannisen
OUT: Vandermeer, Scott (sub)

FB Richards, L Jones, O’Donnell
HB Johannisen, Keath, Dale
C B Smith, Bontempelli, Macrae
HF Daniel, Naughton, West
FF Weightman, Ugle-Hagan, Lobb
FOL English, Liberatore, Treloar
INT Duryea, Baker, Williams, Poulter
SUB Scott

So why would we continue to play the guys who have let us down the last few weeks then if we are throwing everything at it?

That said, if the cats win they’ll likely end up with pick 10 but if they lose they’ll likely end up with pick 7. Scott isn’t stupid, anyone needing an op will be in there this week and the kids will get a run too.
We make finals at 8th if we win and Carlton beat GWS. What's the worst we can finish if we lose?

I'd almost prefer the better draft pick at this stage. Last 2 weeks suggests it'd be pointless making finals.

We can finish as low as 13th but that is if Bombers beat pies and tigers beat Port. Realistically we finish 11th.

Everything would have to go right for us to finish 13th, most likely outcome if we lose is 11th.

You'll win easy. We've got further injuries and Cameron won't play.

We'll have a stack of kids.

Cameron, Stanley, Duncan, Henry, Rohan, Close, Ratugolea, Blicavs all out.

Hawkins inj too apparently. Guthrie 1 game back in the VFL. And Danger playing injured.

We just lost to the Eagles at Marvel... No wins will come easy to us unfortunately, especially down at GMHBA.

You do realise we just lost to West Coast right

You don't seem to understand.

The more injuries you have, and the more under-manned - the better your odds of winning.
Do you have a small forward, fringe type, who's played only a few games, never has more than 5-6 possessions, and a career tally of 1.9?

Bring him in - he'll kick 5 this week and get both coach's votes. And that's where his career will peak. ☹

TAYLOR Duryea is set to miss the Western Bulldogs' must-win clash against Geelong after being offered a one-match ban for rough conduct.

Duryea was cited by the Match Review Officer for rough conduct against Jamie Cripps during the last quarter of the Bulldogs' shock seven-point loss to West Coast on Sunday.

The incident was graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, leading to a one-match ban, which would see Duryea miss the Dogs' encounter against the Cats at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night.

Not sure if that's good or bad. He's certainly been on a downward trajectory of late - but without his experience, and playing at Corio.... ☹

Thank god, how many goals need to be kicked on this bloke before it sinks in that he’s cooked - and we’re trying to convince him to go around again supposedly? 😂

Been a great Recruit but it’s Time for Duryea to Retire At seasons end

I was going to game prior to Sunday's loss. If the coach and players do not give a stuff why should I. I think I rather attend a funeral than travel to Geelong to see a thumping.

I'll appreciate it if Bevo drops the guys holding this team back/are incredibly unlikely to be part of any future success (Keath, VDM, Scott, Poulter, Baker, Williams among the candidates) plays the youngsters, gives Toby one last game, and tells the team to play through the middle with reckless abandon. And whatever the outcome of this game and the blues/giants, at least a few players get something out of it. And I reckon the team would perform better anyway, it wouldn't be us tanking.

But he never will. At this point his idea of going 'all in' will be to implement outside 5 one last time, bring in Gardner, tell the team to play through he and Keath at every opportunity, and make McComb sub, finding a way to lose against a team desperately trying to better their draft position yet again.
