Unfortunately for Ah Chee JK is more important Allen is in good enough form and versatile enough to stay in. Cole and Duggan is like for like I think Schoey probably makes us too tall but would depend on who comes in for Collingwood. Adams and Greenwood will probably come in for Thomas and Sier. If the big Yank Cox stays in then Schoey might be preferred over Cole. Some suggestion that Noble a fast half back /wingman could come in to add some speed for them. Certainly will be interesting on Thursday.

Lets take a breath and consider how well placed we are to replace Duggan (who has been excellent this year). We get to choose from two Premiership defenders Schoey and Cole, + Rotham who is an obvious talent at AFL level, and Watson who is untested but full of promise. There is a case for rolling the dice - I think Simmo has indicated he's in the mix, so maybe now is time for "Elementary" Watson, aka the Pope. And if the rest of the team is fit, that would mean five indigenous players in the team. Whoever gets the gig, selectors' nightmare is fans' luxury.

Surely Sheppard goes straight to DeGoey, not Schofield. And given Diggan isn't a KPP I'd put a line through Schofield.

I like Rotham the most personally, but I'd be fine with Cole as well.

Rather blood Watson against some shit team who won't punish us so much if he does his usual backline brain fade.

Could Muitimer get a game?

This isn’t as silly as it sounds. Duggan covers a lot of ground - and Mutimer is more of an endurance runner than Schofield, Cole or Watson. Not sure about Rotham, who arrived with a reputation as a runner.

by that logic, no new players should ever debut.

Cole's AFL form has been bog average this year. We should allow others to have a crack, you never know when we may need to call on them later in the season.

Well usually players debut because they are banging down the door in the WAFL or injuries have left them as the only option in that position or they are trying to fast track a natural talent. Watson doesnt really fit in any category.

I’d like to see Rotham come in. He was good earlier in the year when the rest of the team was struggling. Although tall, he has speed. There’s no reason he can’t match up on smalls especially those with an aerial game like Elliott.

Rotham’s an important part of the future with the additional height he has over other young defenders. Cole was excellent last year but had numerous chances this year and squandered them.

We did not flog the Pies, in fact we gave them a head start.

Schofield only came in because there was nobody else, he was arguably BOG as well but realistically I think Cole gets the gig.

Cole got sent to the WAFL to get form, which he did. His previous AFL form is now irrelevant because he did what was asked of him by going back to find form, didn't lower his colours.

We don't need Watson's run and carry so much when we're trying to kick it from the HBF through the middle, we don't really run it like Essendon do. I love Watson's intent to tackle more than anything else he provides, but Cole has that bodyline mentality pursuit of ground balls that Shep and Duggan both have.

Duggans hardness at man and ball is going to be the most difficult thing to replace. We have a great selection of quality backs to replace him but I think they will go with Cole as out of all of those guys, he brings that hardness that Duggan did. He has also had his arse kicked down to WAFL and from what I've heard has been smashing it so I would expect a greater showing from him if he gets a gurnsey. I would also be fine with any of Schoey, Rotham or Watson in but I suspect they will go with Cole.

Schofield specifically in to play on De Goey.
Kennedy replaces Allen.

We can bring in whoever we like, particularly if there's a specific match-up for Schofield. There's no rule that says we have to drop Allen.

No need to drop Allen as I thought he played a very good game against Freo.

Presented well, good at his second attempts and covered a heap of ground.

Versatile as well. When he went back he cut off a fair few entries from the Dockers.

Allen's first quarter was good on the wing, used his body well to take some marks, got some run out the back and took a player out of the defensive run before receiving again in that same chain that lead to Ryan's missed set shot.

I could be well in the minority, but I think we should bring back Schofield.

He has been in good form this year. Plus McGovern, Barrass and Schofield have shown they can play together in the same side. And Schofield has shown his is capable of handling De Goey.

Plus he is a good runner, doesn't shirk a contest, and brings a bit of mongrel.
