Do you have a matchup in mind.

I don’t think Fogarty is back for a few more weeks.
Could throw Gallop back forward if needed, haven't a mind for a specific matchup though.

Out Injured: Answerth and you would think Berry with a calf. Possibly Reville
Hope Neales ankle does not blow up after the game as he was in a bit of discomfort. Came out after the break with no obvious concern but maybe got a jab.

With Berry and possibly Reville out maybe they consider McCluggage on the wing seeing they are obviously easing him back.
Last week 56% TOG this week 67% TOG. Had 15 disposals but 7 clangers. Wing gives him a bit more breathing space till the calf is 100%.

FB: Lester, Andrews, Gallop
HB: Brain, Fletcher, Wilmot
C: McCluggage, WAshcroft, Bailey
HF: LAshcroft, Allen, Cameron
FF: Lohmann, Rayner, Morris
F: Draper, Dunkley, Neale
Int: Marshall, McCarthy, Coleman, Fort, McKenna

You’ve nailed it again. You keep rendering the rest of the thread redundant

Looks like Berry, Answerth and probably Reville are out.

Fort should come straight back in.

Torrent had 30 disposals and 2 goals in the VFL and you'd think they will reward him with a debut.

As for the third spot, there's a few options - McKenna played well in the VFL too, so did Joyce.

I imagine people will be looking at dropping ZZ. I think we keep him in - he just re-signed and need to put some games into him. Young tall players do take some time.

Hard to play both Fort and ZZ for team balance. It’s one or the other, surely?

Yes, fabulous game from Torrent… also 8 marks and 8 tackles and we need more tackling pressure. Would be good to see him get a chance.

Usually I'd agree with this but ZZ has been playing very low TOG (31% today), so it's unlikely you would have him, Draper and Fort out there at the same time for long (if at all). With Draper still working his way back to full fitness I think it works.

Answerth has been so unlucky, 2 concussions which were both totally accidental.
No accident.
Should have been a downfield free kick ...... and given the outcome, should be reviewed by MRO for "pushing" a player into contact (or does that only apply if hands are used ????).

ps probably just upset that we lost ........

Yeah, statistically it was a monster game from Torrent. Pretty hard to overlook that at the selection table. He’s earned some recognition, and a senior debut opportunity feels fully deserved at this point.

It’s a suspension based on how the afl applies the rules re bumps.

Already reporting out there that Pickett won't be cited.

It’s not a suspension based on how the afl can choose to interpret the rules any way they see fit taking into account commercial and other considerations.

Is what I meant to say.

This is where my gripe with the MRO is. They banned Andrews due to outcome, not action. But won't ban Pickett for outcome?

It's just amateur hour.

If Pickett was tackling Answerth and he still got concussed that's just bad luck.

But Pickett chooses to bump like he regularly does. His intention is always to make them earn the ball or disposal.

That used to be the criteria, but it is the MRO so anyone's guess
Then this year they stated they would look unfavorably on players pushing opposition into other players.

I think it’s time we face the facts Unfortauntely. Gallop has played 12 games now, a couple in defence after never playing defence previously. Gallop is a BUST.

it's the inconsistency that grates. Putting Harris's case aside, Charlie Comden was sighted (and fined) for careless elbow to head to Kai last week. It was in a marking contest so in the play if I recall correctly.

Surely a late bump that causes a player to ricochet into another player resulting in concussion is also careless conduct. The sanction can be debated and argued down... though back to Harris - this wasn't possible, because it looked bad.
Same outcome though...
