If he was Fyfe, then yeah sure he's safe. But no, Tabs has to come back in and Clarke is the worst of the tall bridgade
I rather we give clarke his 100th and get it over with. Mind you Tabs coming in and dropping clarke leaves sandi and apeness rucking.

I'd like to see tabs in to play a Nick Riewoldt style game up the field
I concur with this....Have been saying the same for a long while that Tabs actually looks more comfortable up the ground. With leading forwards to kick to, his raking left boot may well come in handy.

Weller is banged up, give him a rest. Clarke is Clarke, and I would like to see Apeness ruck.

In Blakely, Taberner

I would like to see Morabito of half back, maybe Ibbo out.

I like these changes the most, but maybe Hughes out instead of Ibbo.

On the face of it yes; but it would be unfair to drop Hughes after one game. Tbh after rewatching the match Ibbo's general play was solid at times - he made a meal out of a number of passages but wasn't the worst on ground. I've suggested dropping him as he's looking less and less likely as being part of our long-term future.

It's going to be a blood bath this weekend.

I actually wish the game was being played in Adelaide so I could at least be warm and drink quality beer as I watch us get smashed. It is that bad.

TBH the changes that I think will occur is
Outs Walter's possible suspension for high hit.
Langdon didn't do much
Clarke no loss what so ever.
Hughes just gets lost.
Ins Blakley , Taberner and Johnson.

Priddis did a blatant head throw back and the umpire fell for it. Even the commentators saw it and briefly made mention. Priddis takes the bump shoulder to shoulder and his head is in line with his body and then a full second later it somehow throws backwards ala bobblehead Jack/Shuey. It was why Sonny was so upset and part of the reason why (not excused) he gave away that 50 m penalty later after being whacked in the head by Hurn.

Cannot agree with Hughes - got better as the game went on and at least one of his two mongrel kicks coming out of defense was a blatant push in the back not called by the umps. He will be better when he has a chance to adjust to the pace at AFL level.

I just want to see Mora get a run and hopefully in dry conditions and persist with the youngsters. Danyle's kicking is way down and would be the only player (other than Mayne) who I would consider dropping but cannot see that happening. Mayne we might be trying to keep his value up by playing him.

I understand how so many posters have the urge to call for Ibotsons head as the scape goat for the losses but I for one am amused that so many here don't understand his role and the lack of experience we have down back . Spurr , Sheridan and Ibbotson are the only experienced players that we have available in the back 6 . RTB has used Silvagni Tucker ,Hughes ,Collins , Sutcliffe ,Hill ,Mundy , Mayne , Mzungu and Crozier in the backline with limited success . Collins got a football lesson against one of the best power forwards and Silvagni showed why he is on our list .Its just such a shame he has not been available when we needed him .Crozier shows potential but needs more time to be a top line defender but he will IMHO develop quickly .

So many players with poor boot selection .Moulded soles instead of screw ins . I understand its players choice and the Club can't force them but WTF were they thinking

Match Committee: Guys of course boot selection is entirely up to you. But..... just an FWIW we won't be selecting anyone not wearing screw ins. It's completely up to you.

Is Hughes actually any good? Haven't seen anything yet that suggests he's any better than Joe Bloggs in B Grade amateurs.

The players association would support players choice against the Club directions to players .
Please note that if a young player is having growth spurts he can't wear screw ins because the tendon doesn't grow at the same rate . Development coaches have experimented with Fibre Glass soles but they snap and cause more problems with broken pieces damaging their feet .

I don't think anybody wears screw-ins any more. They were never that great anyway, I am pretty sure that moulded soles today are better than screw-ins.

The entire point of Screw-ins anyway is that you could change the studs for longer ones in the event that you were playing on a soft, damp ground. It saved you buying 2 pairs of boots.

AFL grounds today are pretty uniform in the solidity of their turf, there would be no reason to ever change to longer studs. Not to mention that I am pretty sure most AFL players own more than 1 pair of boots anyway. So I don't really see the point of screw ins at all.

I'm a bit the same in that he seems one paced, disposal is got and miss and he doesn't appear to have any standout features.....I hope I'm wrong.

Glad to see that some people have rewatched the match and realised Ibbo didn't actually play terrible, it's very easy to get caught up in the hate on this board especially when the gameday thread is pumping posts quickly.

Ibbo stays in for mine (one of our better defenders)
Clarke for Taberner (No Peel so no point not being the the AFL side)
Give Hughes another week which will mean Sutty misses.
Blakely in for Pearce would be perfect but its possible he does miss out.
Suban stays out, whilst Weller and Tucker stay in (Ross very happy with the two in the press conference, obviously doing the right thing off the ball as well as around it)

We had hardly any run out of the backline with Sheridan and Sutty missing from it, Ibbo did a good job stepping up in that department but hopefully Hughes is encouraged to take some runs this week otherwise he may be chopped for Sutty's run.
