Adelaide have a tall forward line with Tex & Himmelberg as a minimum, possibly Jenkins as well. So Schofield is a 100% in.
Out: Jetta, In: Schoey

With Venables out inj, we luckily have two good positional replacements in Ah Chee & MAllen. MC hates MAllen and is determined to see him never play a game, but I'll say he's in.

Adelaide only play 1 ruck and an inexperienced one at that. Unlike vs Gawn where the MC needed a plan B so a 2nd ruck was justified, going in with Hickey & Vardy vs Adelaide is overkill. But MC loves a tall team so the 191cm giant that is Waterman gets the nod.
Out: Vardy, In: Waterman

Rotham & Ah Chee have a claim on a spot if Schoey doesn't come up or the MC decides to continue flipping MAllen the bird.

It Allen comes in where does he play? Adding another mid creates a problem we had early in the year by playing to many mids.
Matty Allen to play inside midfield - that is where he is honing his craft and has been doing well. It is also where we have a need for a big bull.

If we need a mid to be more the forward, then Redden and Shuey would work very well sharing the mid/hff role. I see Shuey playing well into his 30's and see him reducing his midfield time and spending more time up front. He did pretty well in and around the packs on Friday kicking a couple of snaggers.

Schomo a clear in (lol, liberal joke)

Vardy stays in IMO

Masten in for Venables (I assume his hamstring will get better pretty quick)

I get that we most likely need someone to replace Venables and that someone will probably be a mid but would we really go straight back to Masten? He was dropped and hasn't played any WAFL. Even if he is ahead of other guys like Mallen based on seniority/experience, once you get dropped you should have to earn that spot back.

I get what you're saying, and as a supporter I'm not protesting for him to come back in, but he probably will. MC will probably see Masten as a safer option.

He was supposedly dropped because of injury, although not placed on injury list. Which doesn't make sense to me, but whatever. Based on that, he's not really required to earn his spot back.

Darling needs to be our outlet player up the ground. But can't shake of his opponent and isn't crashing enough packs.

When he's on song we'll be right.

That being said the reason Darling and Kennedy aren't dominating is because we don't take the game on and play on quickly.

We hold the ball up, kick -mark, kick-mark etc. which slows us down and allows defenders to double team our forwards.
Exactly. They suddenly kick goals when we just get the ball forward.

Yeah I don't think any of that is wrong. We are very conservative when it comes to dropping senior players (or even just somewhat established ones) so it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Masten come right back in and have it defended by saying that no one in the WAFL looks any better right now.

These are the chances young players get to show that they have what it takes. Same reason Lewis Jetta's week off isn't the worst thing. He gets a rest and that's a chance for a young player who looks like they could take the step up to do so. I think a guy like Mallen could surprise us how easily he fits in just like Rotham did in his two opportunities. Masten should absolutely be made to earn his recall.

Likely a much bigger risk for NN to play in the AFL straight away compared to Willie considering he's coming off a more serious injury and will be relied on a lot more given his position.
He came straight back in rnd 1 last year. I agree with your logic but the club thought otherwise last time.

He still played a WAFL game or two beforehand from memory. Be it one was a practice match.
There's no point playing a premium talent like NicNat in the WAFL. We did something like that with Rioli (?) and he ripped his hamstring off the bone. Best to give him extra weeks of conditioning at training then let him go. Nothing to lose in the ruck.

Still on Nic Nat this is one occassion the club needs to play its cards extremely close on a possible return. In the right circumstances we could easily create a matchwinning mismatch by dropping him in randomly on a matchday.

Think this is what the club will do. Well maybe not match day as I doubt they will list him as an emergency.

Interesting rumours about his return this week given he said on roaming Brian he meets with his medical team in 2 weeks to discuss his return [emoji848]

To be fair there were 18 months between injury and return in the 2016-2018 lay-off. It’s only been 10 months this time. I don’t know what they’ll do with him, but the opportunity to get match fitness back has certainly been more limited this time around.

With NicNat, the only question I have is does he have the confidence from match sim or will he need WAFL time?

In terms of match fitness, we will need a second ruck in the 22 when you have Nic. I cannot see Oscar cutting it in 2019 as Nic will need a ruckman who can go 50% of the game and that looks like a step too far for Oscar.

You need to ask yourself whether 50% of the Fijian is worth more than 75% of Vardy or Brooksby. Subject to being confident to play, I would bring him straight back in the seniors. Yes, he does make that much of a difference.

id Take 50% Nic over 75% Hickey or Vardy everyday. He only needs a few good hit outs to advantage a quarter to have a direct impact on our inside 50s and scores. If he says he’s ready, I’d be bringing him in, massive game this week that could set up top 4 if we win. Time to risk him if he’s confident he can play

I reckon he'll effectively play Allen's 2nd ruck/fwd role. Schofield has mentioned hes likely to spend alot of time as the deepest fwd. One of Hickey/Vardy (on form Hickey by a mile) plays number one ruck.

Effectively means the time he does spend in the ruck could be mostly against the oppo's 2nd rucks. Imagine the domination of NN against nearly every teams 2nd ruck
