Be interesting to see how our rucks go vs Max this week. Collingwood bought in an extra ruckman to "work him over" kinda like what we are doing right now and Max took a dump on their heads and was BOG.

Buckley immediately admitted he made a bad choice after the game.

Also Duggan will be under the microscope. Couldn't get near the ball for the most part this year and now they're bringing him back despite the fact he's been getting reasonably quiet WAFL numbers.

Either he hit some KPI we don't know about or the MC really wanted Hutch/Ginnity out of the team THAT much.

Maybe the match committee are gutless? When will we see a senior player dropped?

Not that I disagree with you, but at what point to shit performers get dropped in the hope someone can add more?

Just seems that some can be shit performers for much longer before being dropped if at all?

Does our match committee have the fortitude to make tough calls?

Admittedly I don't know who else deserves a recall but we do seem to go the less popular players more than the reputable types far easier.

I don't think everyone starts at the same level when reviewing their performances, like McGinnity vs LeCras is the obvious one. So in a way no, our MC doesn't have the fortitude to make the tough calls it would seem.

I think eMac might find it easier this time because Gov and Barrass can seriously clunk it overhead ..

He can just take an opponent or space ....pressure off him a bit. Happy with Duggan and Nelson, clearly sheed isn't ready yet ...I'm curious who backs up Slyce in the ruck ......

His first half of the year was pretty average besides a couple of good games and I think he got a fair bit of leeway because of his credits in the bank.

Yup ...at worst he gets the best small defender

This frees up Cripps ...this is how footy often works

Lecras isn't a pure forward though anymore .....have we got anyone better running at east Perth in his position

No we haven't .....I staggered also for the people calling for his spot to be taken by others

what run and spread. Only think schoey has on emac is that he understands the game plan/our defensive structure and he hasn't had to come back from an ACL. For guy who used to be a rebounding defender/winger he has provided us with no run from defence His averaging under 10 disposals and less than 2 rebound out of defence. My only concern about is emac is his confidence in himself and the game plan.

I'm not saying he has been fantastic. He has been ok here and there and he has been shit here and there.

I'm not one to get hung up on disposal numbers. I mean how many players on the team are we expecting to get 20, 25, 30 possies? He is often playing on the number one forward. In that role his job is to neutralise them first. Ball coming in, put a body on them, which hopefully allows Gov to drift in and pick the ball off. In a 1 on 1, even the contest. Get a fist to the ball, see it over the line etc. Not many stats to bank in that sort of game. Now, 1v1 I think he struggles in the air, particularly close to goal but he can't be expected to be the guy playing the foiling role AND being the receiver and distributor of the ball. The thing is he has the speed and mobility over Emac and if you watch him, he does actually work hard off the ball to provide options. But if players have Hurn, Wellers, Gaff, Masten, Shuey etc as a viable outlet from the D50 who will they pick? One of those guys or Schoey? But his run, whether it's honoured or not is important. His spread is important because it draws opposition players and opens space. So he does provide run and spread. Not everything is about how many times you touch and dispose of the ball.

If Emac is back to some decent form and can carry it into the higher level I think I prefer him over Schoey. We have plenty of fleet footed and decent users of the ball in that area. We have been suspect in the air at times when McGovern isn't around and Schofield has had to neutralise a contest. I'm fairly confident Emac would win/even the majority of those, so I think it strengthens our overall defence.

I'm in Bali and quickly looked at while I was waiting for a cab ....must have seen Giles and though ...nah must be typo

I genuinely didn't see his name

For mine ...good changes ...brown unlucky ...he didn't do a lot wrong ...Duggan is quality ...Nelson is different

Maybe Giles will get a game when Nic Nat comes back to give Slyce a breather before the finals

You'd have to assume he was sent back to WAFL to work on something specifically and has done that. Happy to see him back in the team but I think we need a fit and firing Sheed more at this stage.

Yeh, I'm reasonably happy with the changes. Would have liked to see Adamson get upgraded and get a game, but it doesn't seem likely at this point.
