Which one? Personally I'd love to see Jetta tried in an over the top, run on to the ball type forward role, the type of player that usually carves us up.

C'mon mate, don't make me pick! Umm, Jetta, just because we do need to start rewarding those performing in the WAFL other wise we'll have a mini exodus (Probably a bit too dramatic). however, I do like your suggestion which has made this choice harder.

Yeh, that's one of the reasons I didn't bring Jetta back in my ins

Mitch Brown rucking against Gawn makes me very nervous. The demons have got a few hard kents playing inside mid too, we'll have to employ a similar strategy to what we did in the norf game.

Out: McGovern (thumb), McGinnity, Brown
In: MacKenzie, Nelson, Giles

B: Barrass, MacKenzie, Butler
HB: Hurn, Schofield, Sheppard
C: Gaff, Priddis, Masten
HF: Cripps, Darling, Hill
F: LeCras, Kennedy, Giles
R: Lycett, Shuey, Yeo
I: Wellingham, Hutchings, Nelson, Redden
E: Brown, Karpany, McGinnity (held over)

Don't like the idea of Brown going up against Gawn. And to be honest he's not adding a hell of a lot elsewhere. Get Giles to crash into Gawn and wear him out.

Nelson for McGinnity, just as aggro and maniacal but can actually use the ball.

Redden survives just because I think he should at least get a second game after earning a recall. Hutchings survives because Sheed and Duggan didn't do much for East Perth.

Somebody said there is no way to upgrade Adamson - if there is, don't you think he deserves a spot ahead of Redden and Hutchings?

If he can't be upgraded, ignore.

This time of season cant see the Eagles doing anything radical going into a finals series , going to row this boat untill it sinks most likely in Melbourne sometime in September .

On the other hand they reckon NicNat wont be far away we could surprise the competition in the finals . ( Hope !!! )

Brown played just over half the game and got 4 hitouts. He did tackle well, but I think Giles is better to work Gawn over when Lycett rests.

not for this week but maybe the week after, we could try going with lycett and having schoey and gov rucking. Emac back in as our full back. Barrass second tall while schoey plays as a HFF. We could also chuck gov forward if we need to and bring schofield back into defence.

We can, wouldn't mind the idea but can't see it happening.

I thought Karpany into the emergencies was courageous enough.

Two weeks ago Adamson was playing reserves for East Perth

People are kidding themselves if they think he's ready for elevation into an AFL side

A week before Karpany was on the reserves and was considered delist material

They've both had some good recent games but they aren't the answer this season

He should not have been playing reserves, that was a bullshit hatchet job.

If spuds like Hutchings (who started the year well but has really gone off the boil) and Redden are considered good enough to represent us why not somebody with actual potential?

I agree that he shouldn't have been playing reserves but I don't think he's ready for the increase in speed and intensity at AFL level - he's still coming to grips with the pace of the game at WAFL level. It's no coincidence he's done well in the wet when it's a slog rather than open faster paced game in dry conditions

When you said they aren't the answer this season, that's pretty much irrelevant to me. We aren't any chance of winning the GF this year and would be better off focusing our energies on a push next year. Adamson getting a look in now to see if he's got something to offer is better than continuing with the mediocre status quo.

It's like people think we are in the bottom 4
Bottom 4 of the 8 I guess

Imagine if we'd recruited the best player in the comp and still couldn't do better than 7th so far

Yep lets just give up

Sounds like a solid strategy
It isn't giving up, it is identifying that 2017 is a better shot than 2016. A preseason into Redden, Jetta, Duggan etc. with Naitanui fitter after having the rest of 2016 off etc. The Hawks a year older. Able to trim some fat at the end of this year and target a few good players to improve us further.

Priddis retiring/being forced out and Sheed taking his spot.

Have you seen anything in any game so far this season that makes you think we're a chance to win a flag this year?
Well as bad as we've been we are only a couple of percent outside the top 4. We need to have a crack while the opportunity is there. For all we know we may not play finals for the next decade. Giving up when you are in this position is stupid.

But why not give them a go? I down see how retaining the likes of hutch, redden and ginners is any sort of answer either.

And we haven't beaten a single decent team all year, we'll get destroyed in any final away from domain. But I don't see how playing Adamson instead of Redden or Jetta is giving up, chances are even if he's not quite ready he's going to offer as much as they have this year.
