Good to see the same old shit on here, it's like a Freo fan banging on about drugs as soon as someone mentions West Coast.

Hutch directly contributed to at least two goals tonight through good kicks to our forwards, took a great mark under pressure to stop a chance for Port to goal, and won a great clearance in the centre under pressure against two opposition mids and everyone wants him dropped.
Meanwhile Redden had 66% clangers and only "has a couple of good handballs" and everyone leaves him in the side. The hatred on here for him is ridiculous. If anyone should be dropped its Redden for Duggan. I don't think they'll drop the two rucks either but they might try it seeing some we're at home. If that's the case bring in Karps.

Don't think this is true.

We all know he the is 23rd/24th player

Well, most of us do.....

You seem to be doing the same, just in reverse?

Coz I'm sick of the bagging he gets on here when he doesn't deserve it. If he has a bad game I'm happy to call him on it, but he was decent tonight, and he still gets potted by everyone. He gets played out of position regularly to allow for Ploddus to be at every contest and still manages to have an impact but yet gets bagged. Sure he's far from perfect, but I can guarantee it's not his choice to corrall as when he first came into the side a few years ago he nearly took the tackling record in the derby and was rated in the top of the AFL for defensive acts. People just love to have a crack at him but I'd rather him in the side over Redden any day. At least he gets his hands on the footy and contributes to goals.

Would like to see Karpany come in. Dogs play a smaller back line and have defenders that like to be offensive and create like Murphy, Biggs and Johannisen.

Having a smaller forward line that makes them more accountable/ applies ball pressure will be important.
Haven't been following the WAFL much, but how has Karpany's form been in the 2s? No good playing him on potential if his form has been just so-so.

t
Schofield should come in for Giles.

I'm sure at least Schofield would of spoiled Ryder and co yesterday

And I'm sure he would have more impact around the ground
that really is a good option . He could ruck or cover for gov Rucking . Way more flexible than Giles

Duggan should be an automatic in for Hutchings, but I don't know who to pick between McInnes and Giles.

Giles could possibly dominate the hitouts as the only proper ruckman against a Bulldogs side without a ruck, while McInnes has been in great form for EP and would be a better option up forward then Giles.

Additionally, Giles was just plain bad tonight, and we should reward McInnes for his WAFL form.

Who do we pick?
The only problem with Giles he is not agile and is also cumbersome and slow, however he is the only true ruckman we have left that is fit to play. Going in with Vardy as the sole ruck against Hawthorn left a gaping hole and we know how that turned out! Both Vardy and McInnes are forwards/rucks so not sure going in with just one of them would be the answer. Giles is still decent and gives his all.

I would rest Mitchell. He is playing sore and in that last 1/4 he had bo run.

For me:

Out: Mitchell( rest) Hutchings
In: Duggan Karpany

Lets use this opportunity to play Duggan and Mutimer in the guts and let mitchell have a week off before we travel to melbourne. Chose Redden over Hutchings purely because i think Redden is seen as a player Simmo wants in the squad and he is building some consistency as a link up player in rhe midfield.

Mitchell is meant to be the cherry on top for this season and not the guy we should be relying on to win us games. For the club to move forward i would be giving Duggan and Mutimer more game time in the centre so come finals we are less predictable in the guts. A fresh Mitchell during finals will be that cherry on top whos experience will help us out massively.

hutch had the same amount of effective disposal as redden but 1 less clanger .
redden had 1 goal assist hutch 0
redden had 4 more tackles .
to be fair I thought both redden and hutch played their role with neither terrible or great.
Sheed was probably slightly better than both but we seem slow and a bit unbalanced with
Priddis , mitchell , Sheed , redden and hutch .

Priddis and Mitchell stay in obviously

Sheed needs to stay in as he will take over as a one of our main ball winners post pritchell.
Get games into him

Duggan same as sheed needs to play

One of Redden and hutch needs to go out for Duggan .
Personally I want to persist with redden but I wouldn't be upset if hutch retained his spot

Was just reading through the eagles v port thread on reddit. Safe to say the guys over there have some pretty different opinions to the majority of us on here :P

In what way?

Do they not make a whole bunch of knee jerk comments swinging from wild adulation to absolute derision in the space of a minute like our game day thread

He came in as an emergency so you would think he would come out for Duggan unless he plays a blinder. He had a statistically worse game than Redden with neither player being good.

A few seemed to think pridda was a lock for the 3 votes, whilst a couple more commented on how soft Duggan is and that he shouldn't be played over hutch any time soon.

They were all just as perturbed about our performance in the ruck though, so at least that's something.

It's probably the FB crowd. They love the workhorse type players like Priddis and hutch.

Why don't we bring Mitch Brown in as well.

Bring up Bigfooty and they all lose their shit. r/afl is probably the haven for banned members here.

Are you his dad? sounds like you're about to cry

Tempted to leave out Vardy and play an extra runner (Duggan) against the Dogs, with Darling pinch hitting.

Of course the only other time we've tried that this season we got pantsed by the bottom side. And using two rucks against Sinclair worked well so it could be useful against Boyd.

In that case:
Out: Hutchings (unlucky)
In: Duggan

Mitchell to miss the trip to Melbourne the following week.

That would lower the teams IQ by 50%
