Them being as cocky as they were last year helps a bit
Yeah hopefully our supporters aren't cocky when they run out on the field......

Should be at least 80-20 your way... A lot would have to go right for us to win this one.

Same thing was said last year and look how that turned out

Who's being cocky?

I think you just made that up

Pfft. Cocky !!!!!!!!

I think you will find the playing group the direct opposit and fully focused. The flack that they have copped ( and rightfully so ) from the final has been quite ferocious and scathing , so I think you can forget any thought of cockiness .
You may win but you certainly won't be treated lightly by the playing group like you were last year in the final.

Whilst we had quite a few players coming back into the EF we were pretty much at full strength for that game, and I for one was extremely confident we would roll you.. Lost a considerable amount of money on us by only selecting the margin of 1-39.

We will be nowhere near full stength this week, in fact this team will be the furtheriest from our best 22 we have selected all season.

I'm interested to see how we go, but in know way do I think we can win.. It will be a massive surprise if we do.

We should be 100% but I said the same last year and ended up knocking Bak two tubs of connoisseur and drinking my self to sleep.

There's been a hell of a lot of talk from the playing groups about atoning for last year's result which I've found interesting. Often in that situation clubs will say they haven't talked about it, they're just focused on the job at hand etc etc.

Hopefully they'll come out spitting fire as opposed to pre-game talk about the MCG hoodoo, which seems to result in them coming out onto the field in concrete shoes and nappies.

Doesn't instil me with confidence TBH. 2016 was supposed to be about us "atoning" for the 2015 Grand Final, and we shat the bed hard there.

IMHO - Until we start seeing a consistent and sustained shift in tone in the way the playing group conducts themselves on the field, then words of "atonement" are just that - words. One hard-fought win does not a premiership-condender make.

This week will be a good week for the boys to put in some hard work and start chipping away at the "soft" tag they have been carrying for a few years now. Another soft performance, however, and its going to be right back to the flat track.

Atoning for a GF loss is always the message from the finalist every year.

2015 we had a collective group have career best years. 2016, the majority of those stagnated, portions of our list got ahead of themselves & thought the work was done. It never is.

The attitude seems different this year. Don't get me wrong, we aren't in our best form, but we are winning. We are giving ourselves every oppurtunity to really atone for the last couple of years where it really matters at the business end.

This week gives us a fantastic opportunity to put our best foot forward against fantastic opposition. Can't wait for the match!

After last year I've learnt that these Bulldogs just don't give up and can grind it out. Doesn't matter if there are decimated with injuries or traveling interstate.
In this case it's both so everything points to a loss but I just got a feeling...

For a guy who has been consistently useless every time he gets played at AFL level, Mcinness sure does get a lot of love.

From memory, the last game he played for us was against the sydney swans in a forward/ruck role, and he was basically a witches hat out there.

Keep him on our list as an absolute last resort for ruck cover, but really, his time in the AFL is effectively over.

He showed a fair bit when he covered for Darling in 2015. Went backwards massively last year.

Seems to be getting his head back in the game so far this year. Frase looks like a late bloomer and might end up having a solid WAFL career.

Have a great ability to stay in games or come back after a poor start

Play with a lot of heart so at no stage will I think we have this won until the final siren assuming of course we're still in it by that stage

This would be an ideal game for the Eagles to rest some of their stars. The dogs only won the flag last year because of the bye and they are not capable of winning interstate against such a classy team. The elimination final of last year was a fluke, as were the other 3 finals wins. . Eagles will win this by around 15 goals.

Hello Mr Petrie. While everyone is entitled to an oponion, be warned that we don't like the term "weagle".

Well our average winning margin at home against your lot is 10 goals so can't see why we shouldn't make it 15 this time:thumbsu:
