Ill be surprised if Palmer plays he did have a slight limp IMO but I seem to be the only one who thought so and surely he has done something to it after you see the replay even if it isnt bad.
Dodd also hurt his wrist and played with seemed to be quite a bit of pain in the last.
My only out is Crowley In- ????

Most on here said thats not a good enough reason the last few weeks so it should be not good enough this week.

Who else will tag Kerr... Dodd, DeBoer??

He was solid without being spectacular last week, 16 possessions, a few clangers, but he's not in the team for his exquisite skills...

Derby's are always physical, he, along with Soloman will have to fly the flag.

We also need the experience, especially in an away Derby.

Crowley accepts the hate the bluenyellas feel for him - nay he soaks it in, feeds off it, revels in it... and then points and laughs in their collective faces.

Now Jeffrey, Good Carr and The Dirty Traitor are gone, and Des is injured - it is Crowley and Crowley alone who is left to stand up and absorb the jeers and jibes; take the hits from the clueless crowd for the good of the team, and then hit them harder back by rendering Kerr to a gibbering useless heap.

You quite simply can't drop Crowls for a derby... ;)

I notice Channel 7 started the excuses already tonight saying Freo would have an advantage in the derby from not traveling while the poor Eagles had to go to Tazzie. As if we haven't done it a zillion times before and backed up and won.

I thought Crowls had his best game for the year on the weekend anyway.

Well I suppose your all probably right being the derby and Kerr but I don't think he had a good game, perhaps I have fallen for the trap like most of only seeing his mistakes;)

McPharlin will be cited for making contact with an umpire, won't get enough activation points to be suspended though... well at least I think he wont.

Sounds like a few players in the WAFL had fairly good games, it's hard to really drop anyone after that game, besides Murphy.

OUT: Palmer, Murphy
IN: De Boer, Broughton

Keeping Hayden forward, Tarrant and Solomon back at all times.

Ch 9/10 say Freo hopeful he will play.

Interesting the different perspectives from the different channels...

That's probably because 9/10 actually asked Freo, 7 pulled it out of their rear ends.

As for those stating Hayden down on LeCra - that's a good option and will work, it will expose LeCras defensive side as well, but I reckon give Dodd a go on him. He did a number on O'Keefe this week and, despite the theory of being unacountable that some have, I reckon is at his best when he's got the simple (doesn't have to think too hard) task of negating a player rather than being a 'creator/running' backman. If it doesn't work, then switch Haydos down there, problem solved.

BTW, Crowley is a must in this game - Kerr's got Subiaco form at the moment but is still liable to mental meltdowns and Crowley is just the man to tip him over the edge.

I won't be surprised to see Thornton start on LeCras and for LeCras to kick 3 or 4 on him in the first half before Harvey shuffles the deck.

Agree with Dodd as a simple tagger but LeCras looks very good this year and we will need to have options up our sleeve. Crowley had his best game of the year, was playing on Jude Bolton the most dangerous mid for Sydney.

Changes - none unless forced, DeBoer, Broughton and Foster most likely to be in the mix?. I like Kiwi over Murphy in general but you have to give players time to settle without haphazard changes and Kiwi has kicked any bags in the WAFL. Thornton should only ever play from now on as a defensive forward on the oppositions rebounding defender, he played his 2nd best game for us against Sydney his best was against Wirra in a derby and that should tell us something. That said I reckon Gilmore could play a similar role as well and hurt the opposition on the rebound by kicking a few goals - but for the moment rash played well enough to get the job on Wirra.

Didn't Le Cras carve Dodd up in the pre-season game with 5 goals? That might be the stimulus for Dodd to step up but we will need a few options for Le Cras as he is in outstanding form this year.

Keeping Hayden forward, Tarrant and Solomon back at all times.

Solomon had a great physical game in terms of his aggressive body contact, but he coughs the ball up as regularly as Thornton with his skill errors and free kicks. In the end I prefer him forward because of that.

Just watched the first half again last night.

Murphy actually had a good first half.
Got physical, ran hard and if Johnno had handballed over the top may have had two before half time .
I'd keep him to stretch their defence.

McPharlin - Glass

Johnson - Mackenzie

Murphy - Jones?

Hayden - Wirrapanda

Mundy - Hurn

Peake/Schammer - ?

I thought Thornton was surprisingly adequate today. Murphy was ordinary though. He simply has to take those marks and kick those goals as a FF. While I'm all for giving him another shot, Campbell's got more grunt in him and the Eagles young backs are fairly strong.

Out: Murphy
In: Campbell.

Plus u got a firing Glass to content with :D

Anymore Palmer news? If theres cartilage floating around, looks like at least 2-3 weeks?

OUT: Palmer
IN: ???? DeBoer or Walters I guess?..I mean look at our other options avail...for a midfield role

HEAD - NO
GILMORE - NO
HALL - NOT READY
RUFFLES - NOWHERE NEAR READY

& the rest are injured

I reckon you guys will win
You seem to play above yourselves for the derby
But it should be closer, than previous times, judging by form at subi
ummm no we win cos we are better than the eagles

asif youd have to play out of your skin to beat the eagles ...........

We need 2 ruckmen against Cox to counter his around-the-ground work.

To combat Cox around the ground we need to assign a player to negate him and make Cox accountable for Sandi, by Sandi being used as an attacking player. Throw the dice.
Cos and his defensive 50 easy pick ups are really not that much of an issue. In fact we could actually use it to our advantage by playing Someone Like Johnson on him which would cut off completely or put him under so much pressure that he ends up coughing it up. Either way, by placing someone on him permanantley the Evils could be put under so much pressure with him taken out of the equation thast they end up bombing it long (ala Priddis/Fletcher sytle) that we end up with it through just taking away their key linkman when playing around with it in defense. Seriosuly, the style Cox plays is just stats whoreing, and the Evils rely on his presence in the backline to get it out of defense. So if we can place him under pressure by having a guy follow him wherever he goes and put him under pressure when the ball around, it will go a long way for us to win.

Also having Jonno in the forward line might nab us a few easy goals through counter attacks and opffensive pressure.
