The dropping of Langdon is bemusing.

Outside run is something we desperately need and he kicked 2 FFS.
Keeping Suban in instead is a crime and he was more effective than Ballantyne.

On the plus side can't wait to see the Ape and Tucker back in.

When Suban first arrived at Freo, some in this board were rating him as a future Captain of the Club. How things have changed.

Yeah, I can put my hand up and say I was one of those advocates. I think I went as far as to say he'd be our Luke Hodge. How embarrassing.

The Suban haters are alive and well . Just for the record we don't have many midfielders that get down and dirty when the going gets tough . Barlow and Suban is all that's left .Clancee is getting over concussion ,Fyfe broken leg and Mundy is playing loose man in defence .We have been using Ballas and Walters who are giving effort but they are both forwards that need to play closer to goal if we are going to kick a winning score .
I think Langdon was dropped despite kicking the 2 goals one a gift the other a very good kick but he went missing for long periods of the game .Apeness has IMHO not got enough football time to have a big influence for the whole game but this could force Essendon to play an extra tall but Worsfold more than likely will play a medium tall who is fast . Michael will need to hold marks or get the ball to ground so that Walters and Ballas can crumb

I am afraid to admit you are right regarding suban but against big or fast running opposition, his rugby style will not work , therefore I don't really mind either way vs essendon or subiaco.

Ross anywhere , anytime challeng will always be useful , is a matter of winning or losing.

Apeness probably gains more from playing 60-70% game time in the AFL than he does playing in the WAFL. He probably offers more than Clarke as well. I like the selection but am a little worried that a forward line containing Pav, Ape and Tabs may be a little slow if we don't deliver the ball well enough. As much as I love Pav, I don't see the problem at all really if you to put McCarthy there instead. This slight worry is more than offset by seeing Apeness play for once. Seeing him put one through the sticks is what I most want to see Saturday (well, apart from a win that is).

His can't kick as far as suban, last week he is an unused emergency. can see him be better than suban in the future. But as usual suban is only behind to Dawson/d.pearce/mayne when come to Ross selection.

Word from the coaching staff is that it's his kicking;no doubt if he had Suban's left peg he'd be in and I get the impression they're confident he'll be there long term,just needs to pick the distribution accuracy up;I think with Brady the shorter distance kicking accuracy is OK,but they want him to improve the accuracy/trajectory/velocity over 30/40.
He can't come into the team as another de Boer,there's got to be more and much as I'm grateful to Matt I think Brady may deliver an upgrade once he's improved the areas necessary.

I read Chinese book. watch afl/ wafl . Enjoy soccer. won't just keep complaining about umpire, AFL, or some dream draft pick.Get real suban and co cannot go further with AFL changing rule. Either change game plan or walk out of the competition.tank or no tank you need to develop players to replace pav ,Mundy,johnson,dawson and Sandi and this is a fact.

Langdon is out of contract at end of season. Unlike Weller he does go missing. Wouldn't be surprised to see Langdon offered for trade. Need Mayne to play in ibbo's spot in D50 with Mundy in mid field with sonny,ballas &'Weller to support pav tabs and Appeness up forward.

Langdon play less than 10 AFL game as compare to o Sheridan and sutty. Therefore is difficult to evaluate his performance .

Unfortunately he just isn't very smart and his game has never developed beyond his junior game. See ball, get ball. He's never developed any finesse or subtlety about his game.
Can't wait to see what Apeness can bring. Love to see him crashing a few packs and bring down a hanger or 2.

Expect Apeness to do well in the first half of football , but will definitely struggle a bit in the second half.

Suban will be really good contributor if fyfe and bennell are available ,without them he trick won't work.

Whereas Langdon, to my mind, is quick on the uptake. In his 2 soccer goals from 2 matches he didn't miss a beat.

Club has always been very upfront and upbeat about the aerobic capacity of both Tabs and The Ape.I'm surprised that he's been brought in this week but the club has neglected to forward his GPS data to me for some time.
One thing you would have to say is that with the very cautious approach they're taking with rehab and comeback, they're convinced he's not being exposed to the risk of avoidable injury.

At the end of the day he's just as likely to get injured playing WAFL as he is playing AFL. It's not like WAFL has special rules asking people to go easy. If his injury is good enough to play WAFL then it's good enough to play AFL. The only real question is if he can run out a full game of AFL or not. We don't really have a lot of choice in his position so the 2nd is pretty irrelevant.

Really happy to see Apeness in the side. I'm not fussed if he should ideally have more time in the WAFL. Stuff that. We're playing Essendon and Brisbane, our companions at the bottom of the ladder. What better time to introduce him? And he surely couldn't do any worse than Clarke.

I go to WAFL games and some last season he carved up. You have watched very little of him yet think you know it all.
