Even post-match RTB said 'we didn't utilise Barlow enough in the first'. Umm derr, the fourth quarter either and most of the year. While not agreeing with the 'RTB is purposely ending Barlow's career' mob, Micky has seemed on the outer with him for some time. Lachie Neale gets a heap of the ball but really lacks a defensive side. The rest of the mids are receivers or very green like Blakely (who I rate). With Fyfe and Mundy out, you'd think it'd be pretty simple to get a more defensive mid in there, dodgy kicking and all. The young blokes just needed a mature head in there early on, and someone to show them what a tackle was.
I find it despairing to watch because Barlow was the catalyst for us going from complete rubbish in 2009 to finals quality. And now he is barely given a second thought despite what he has proven.

Barlow isn't an elite footballer, and even if you watch those old games from 2010, he's an accumulator who can find the goals, he isn't Fyfe-like.

Since we improved to top four quality, it made sense to demote him a little, but now we're on the bottom, his football smarts and leadership are desperately needed. When he plays in the middle he brings others into the game. Instead we're rudderless. It's sad.

I agree. Mick might be struggling to be in the 22 next year with Fyfe, Bennell, Mundy and some young guys being a year older but at the MOMENT he should be in there, from the start of the game. Suban has always seemed to struggle to get 20 possessions and given a choice between him or Barlow you'd play Mick. Neale is still young and not a real leader or strong defensively yet, Suban doesn't seem to have the head on his shoulders, Pearce and Hill aren't natural leaders and the others are basically debutees. No capt or Brownlow medallist out there you need some maturity. With a win will come confidence but RTB isn't giving them much chance at the moment.

In: Mundy, Tucker, Z.Clarke (if good weather)
Out: Suban, D.Pearce, Sutcliffe

I would love of we had other options for Ballas,l and Ibbo but we are bare at the moment. Mora, Apeness, Yarren ... not ready. What about Deluca?

The rage of the deluded pollyannas towards me is because it shits them that I was right.
No rage whatsoever, simple tedium with you and I guess a certain fascination how you type with both hands on it.
pm me another of your unstable moments.

Outs; Sutcliffe, Ibbotson and Suban.

- Sutcliffe: Form so bad for so long that you've got to start to worry that this is all he's got.
- Ibbotson: Not an acceptable performance from a senior player.
- Suban: Suban.

Ins; Tucker, Grey, Mundy if fit.

- Tucker: Slot him into the side as a direct replacement for Ibbotson. The improvement in our rebound and ball movement should be immense.
- Grey: lock down small defender or moderately defensive inside mid. Take your choice. This week I would lean towards inside mid. Lose absolutely nothing whatsoever in a direct exchange for Suban.
- Mundy: Automatic inclusion if fit. Would slot him into Sutcliffe's role tbh.

Spurr Dawson Tucker
Crozier Collins Mundy
Hill Barlow Sheridan
Weller Taberner Mayne
Ballantyne Pav Walters
Griffin Neale Blakely

Langdon, Grey, D Pearce , De Boer.

In the ideal world Ballantyne would be under some kind of pressure for his spot too.

Did you enjoy the Peel game?
I did. It was beautiful weather. I played footy with my kids on the banks and watched some Freo up and comers play pretty well.

Good to see you're posting again. Hope you're going ok.

I wanted to go but I was balancing dad duties with footy. Glad it was a nice day.

Thank you and yes I've made some real postive changes in my life :)

Would think Tucker in is the only must change from reports. After that there are some possibilities none of which are fully right such as Apeness, Morabito and Clarke. An ideal world sees them all in but may be better to be patient.
