How do you explain him missing shots early in the game? You're right about Walters and Ballantyne, especially for SonSon - people whining about his form in front of the sticks don't realise how much pressure he's putting on his body at the moment.
Agree with most of that, some very good young players with a sprinkling of maturity. I am not sure about Spur though. He has been quite serviceable for a mature age draftee and on balance worth the selection.Part of me likes the idea of Mundy down back for his final few years..... but with the way Blakely is coming on by next year could we run our midfield as:
Sandi - Mundy - Neale
Walters - Blakely - Hill
Kicking to a forward line of:
SPS - Fyfe - Bennell
Yarran - Tabs - McCarthy
With Apeness being our Fwd/Ruck.
Depends on Johnson's fitness but if he's good then we don't need Mundy down back.
Spurr - A Pearce - Collins
Crozier - Johnson - Tucker
Bench full of class too:
Weller - Langdon - Barlow - Apeness
Hopefully this is the team that plays Essendon next year. Haha
Yeah completely agree. Just had him in because he's part of the leadership group and I imagine he has a golden ticket.Agree with most of that, some very good young players with a sprinkling of maturity. Moving forward however, I can't see a spot for him. Tough as nails but lacks class and polish. At times his decision making is suspect and he gets caught quite often in front of goal. He also lacks the pace to go with the Cyril types.
We haven't had a seriously good back pocket since the general Roger Hayden.
Should we look at drafting such a player at least with a late pick or a Rookie spot?

Roger would be AA in modern footy. miss him so much.Yeah completely agree. Just had him in because he's part of the leadership group and I imagine he has a golden ticket.
He's definitely a player we can improve on.
Apeness has to come in for Pav.
Sorry but the old boy is completely buggered.
I've had more of a think about the changes.
What chance the Ape this week? I know he has only played 3 WAFL and a WAFL Ressies game but the next 3 weeks fixture wise looks as easy as it will get, 2 home games vs Essendon & Port plus Lions away, none of these teams have great key backs, it does seem a bit rushed, I reckon another 2 games would be ideal but we're not in an ideal situation. He comes in to help in the ruck, another area the 3 upcoming teams aren't exactly strong in.
Tucker would be a chance and hopefully Mundy comes back.
Who comes out, DeBoer would be a definite, Sutcliffe possible if he is injured.
I'd hold off on Apeness, looks like in WAFL (just based on stats alone) that he tends to drift out of games after starting them quite well.
He's playing as a permanent forward in the WAFL. If he played league he'd be changing in the ruck, which would bring him into the game.
That said I think it's at least another couple of week before he'll be considered for senior selection.
Badly.Out: Sutcliffe (inj), Griffin
In: Tucker, Clarke
Would like to see how Clarke goes as the number 1 ruckman.
Yeah I think you could be right. He didn't play in the middle once to my knowledge on the weekend and didn't do much playing off the wing either. We need better skills/class and we'll only get that by blooding youngsters like Tucker.Sub out, tucker in.
I think I saw the moment Ross decided (if it happens) this on the weekend. When Sub did one of his get caught with the ball moments. They showed the box and Ross gave a four letter word. I thought at the time, that Subs is gone this week.
Was that before or after he blindly bombed the ball forward?Sub out, tucker in.

Only drifting out and not started bad as well sounds like an improvement on the St. Kilda game...I'd hold off on Apeness, looks like in WAFL (just based on stats alone) that he tends to drift out of games after starting them quite well.

New role for Sumich since the start of the season. No longer a line coach, now head of development. I'm not going to pretend to know what he now does on game day though. In: Sumich (coaches box)
Seriously, anyone know what is happening here? The first I heard about it was during the saints game when the commentators mentioned it
Rift between Roly and Suma?New role for Sumich since the start of the season. No longer a line coach, now head of development. I'm not going to pretend to know what he now does on game day though.
