Really happy to see Apeness in the side. I'm not fussed if he should ideally have more time in the WAFL. Stuff that. We're playing Essendon and Brisbane, our companions at the bottom of the ladder. What better time to introduce him? And he surely couldn't do any worse than Clarke.
Let's be realistic. Between Clarke and apeness who has the better upside as a 2nd ruck? Clarke was a 3rd round pick and we got good value outta him. Apeness was recruited with a 1st rounder as a guy who could ruck and kick goals. Would love apeness to play a full season for us next year.

Your posts are bog average at best

I go to WAFL games and some last season he carved up. You have watched very little of him yet think you know it all.
SA thinks he knows it all because he goes to uni or something. Kids, amirite?

At the end of the day he's just as likely to get injured playing WAFL as he is playing AFL. It's not like WAFL has special rules asking people to go easy. If his injury is good enough to play WAFL then it's good enough to play AFL. The only real question is if he can run out a full game of AFL or not. We don't really have a lot of choice in his position so the 2nd is pretty irrelevant.
Not really, the intensity and impact of the AFL is levels above the state league. You're also going to have to be more accountable, which means more fatigue, which means an increased risk of injury as well

Agree what you said, but he will be fine if he don't go full out for this match. His 70% output is still better than Clarke no show.
I prefer Clarke line up vs subiaco than him vs essendon .Clarke will go back to his don't care mode when thing don't go his way, and pull out sore during match a bit like tomic in tennis.

Langdon is bog average. Goes missing for almost the entire game, he is basically just another Sheridan in terms of being incredibly bland and missing any essential killer skill or trait. I go to games and basically have no idea the guy is out there.

That's great...tell us again your opinion on Taberner...

Happy with these changes. I think we might be a little top heavy and slow, but hopefully we can dispose of it well. If we bring our terrible disposal game to Subi we'll get carved up. I can see why Suban stayed in, he's a good kick into the 50, and unfortunately Langdon was the one to cut. I reckon he should get a game if Ballas doesn't perform this week against brissy. DeBoer should get another chance later but we know what he gives, Ross and the MC wants to see how Apeness goes and this will be against a third defender, so he should do ok. Their side is a lot quicker then ours though, this could get ugly. We NEED to win this game, and the Brisbane game. If they're the only 2 wins this season we get I won't care, but we can't drop these. This will destroy the team if we lose this one.

The type of injury we are talking about is not caused by impact though. It's mostly caused by landing the wrong way after you jump, or when trying to change direction. That can happen at any level of football, I don't see any reason that it's more likely to happen at AFL level.

If the club thought that Apeness' injury wasn't fully healed, he certainly wouldn't have been playing WAFL. The only real concern is if he can run out a full game or not, which really doesn't matter when we are 0-10. It's not really a big concern if he spends most of the 2nd half on the bench because he's fatigued.

You're much more likely to damage knee ligaments when you're tired, much like in the rehab process you build up the surrounding muscles for support, when fatigued they offer less support.

I'm not doubting the clubs medicos but it just feels too early, doesn't give a good impression about the value of the result either

The difference in pace and intensity between the two leagues is barely worth disputing;consequently the prospect of soft tissue or otherwise can be greater for an underdone player.Similarly barely worth arguing.
Not sure what you're referring to about choice and the second being irrelevant? We've managed to field 22 for the duration of his prolonged lay off.
I was saying nothing more complex than the club clearly considers him ready for the increased demands of the AFL and I'm surprised how quickly he has come up to speed when it only seems to be a couple of months ago he was emerging from the rehab group;after what's acknowledged to be one of the nastiest injuries for a big bloke.
Once again, credit to our fitness staff.

I thought the PCL injury was the reason the circle was put in the middle of the ground so opposition ruckmen couldn't come in off the long run and crash knees?
I think you may be right, but I don't think people are suggesting the club is taking a risk of him reinjuring his PCL;I'm certainly not.
I thought he retired last year?
You're always well informed supporters.

If apeness injure again so be it , I did raise the question about his fitness a bit. But he is playing forward as compare to A.pearce therefore worth the risk.

We cannot have immediate high expectations on Apeness. It's good that Freo have thrown him in the deep end, hopefully he can play the season out before getting ready for a full preseason.

Margetts is much better than "WestCoast" Dalgleish.

Dalgleish is very bad in favour of wc. If he umpires us when we are playing any side other than wc he is no worse than any other incompetent umpire.
Margetts however, is a Fremantle hater and an absolutely putrid bloke.

Trivia fact : Dean Margetts was best man at Dean Cox's wedding.

Apeness is more likely to injure other players, including our own, than himself, methinks.

Pull your head in mate, I know what you're getting at and you deserve a ban.
deserve a ban...er, sorry mate but I must've missed something.

I thought he did what Karnezis did at Collingwood and retire due to not getting game time.

Sorry if making that observation offended you.

I can understand if someone is missing for a while that you might think they had retired. I've thought the same about Masten, Schuey,Darling,Kennedy'Hill,Le Cras in away and big games for WC.
